Potted Landscape

This week my question was if you are self employed or working of a company. Just under 70% answered that they are working for a company and a little over 30% are self employed.
This got me thinking about the reason we do what we do. I attended a business breakfast and made a new friend. The over riding concept in the conversation was that a successful business addresses a need for a client. When I met Angela and she told me her story, I realized my story is the same, to some degree anyway. We both have a passion for education. Angela is an architect herself and saw an opportunity to add value to other architect's lives. She saw how CPD points was exchanged for money and not really knowledge and she wanted to make a difference. www.cpdcentral.co.za was born.
She wanted course information about landscaping and here we are. I look forward to be able to share my 25 years experience with other design professionals, as I believe that better decisions will be made if more correct information is made available. I also know that very little training is available in terms of greening projects. Topics like being water wise and rain water harvesting needs to be addressed in our South African climate. Plants are more popular than ever and our clients ask for green in projects but how does it get executed successfully. A lot of projects are refurbs of existing buildings. These buildings did not make provision for trees or any kind of vegetation and now it is a requirement.

I can go on and on.
I trust you had a great week. Spring is here and we are eagerly awaiting our first rains in Gauteng.
P.S. The photo is of a project where we did a pathway for a client.
