A potential solution to the logistics issue for parts

This is am idea, I first want to tell you that to make this a reality more research has to be done, manufacturers have to buy into the idea, and other things I have not considered yet has to be fully flushed out.
As a contractor we are all to aware of the time to get parts for systems. What if we can create the parts on our service vehicles or in our shops.
Manufacturers would for a fee enable the prints of the parts and if printing chips, send us the coding for the particular chip. If we can get by-in then the next step is deciding how large a 3D printer is required, this would make the decision of having each service truck have a set up or if it was only feasible in a shop setting.
If you look at BIM technology as a model, you basically have the ability to zero in one one point. What if the same technology could do the same but for a parts list.
Do I think the technology is available-yes. DO I think it is financially feasible -that I do not know about. However if we can get a critical unit running with in a day or less-Certain customer should be willing to pay a fee for this.

I realize that I will receive many comments on why it can or can not be done. I am not looking at this through the eyes of an engineer. I am looking at this through the eyes of a dreamer. If your going to dream dream big. If I would have told you ten years ago we are planning to go to mars, or that Isreal has made peice with some of it's neighbors. I would be laughed at. The mission to mars has hit the first mark by sending exporatory rovers, and the other stages are not far behind.
As for Isreal -Jordan, the United Arab Emiratis, and Bahrain are now trading, Airlines have created links between the respective countries. Like alot of things time will tell of the peace lasts.
Like the movie-The greatest showman and the song Re-write the stars-anything is probable time will tell if it is possible
