Hey dear coaches and founders,
I get it.
You’re putting in the effort—writing posts, sharing insights, maybe even engaging with others…
But your content? Barely getting any likes, comments, or leads.
It’s frustrating. It’s discouraging. And honestly, it feels like a waste of time.
I’ve been there.
A while back, I was posting consistently on LinkedIn, thinking, “This is how people grow their brand, right?”
But nothing happened.
My posts would get a handful of likes (if that), and the only people engaging were friends or random connections who were never going to buy from me.
For months, I kept guessing and experimenting—until I cracked the code.
And once I did? My content started attracting real clients and opportunities.
So today, I want to share what actually works, so you never feel like LinkedIn is a waste of time again.
1?? Stop Posting Like an Employee—Start Posting Like a Leader
Most people post on LinkedIn the wrong way.
They share:
? Boring updates about what they’re doing
? Motivational quotes that sound like everyone else
? Generic “industry insights” with no real personality
Here’s the thing: People don’t follow employees. They follow leaders.
If you want to stand out, you need to post like someone who has authority, insights, and a unique perspective.
? Instead of saying, “Personal branding is important,”
?? Share how your personal brand helped you land clients or opportunities.
? Instead of posting generic tips,
?? Share real stories, experiences, and lessons from your journey.
? Instead of copying what others are doing,
?? Develop your own voice, your own style, and your own insights.
2?? Speak to the Right People (Not Everyone!)
A big mistake I made? Trying to talk to everyone.
The truth is, that not everyone on LinkedIn is your ideal client.
If your content is too broad, it won’t attract anyone specific.
Instead, ask yourself:
?? Who do I actually want to work with?
?? What are their biggest struggles and desires?
?? How can I position myself as the best solution for them?
For example, if you’re a career coach, your ideal clients might be high-level professionals who want to transition into leadership roles.
So instead of saying:
?? “Here are 5 job search tips” (too generic!)
Say:
? “The #1 mistake executives make when applying for senior-level roles (and how to fix it)”
When your content speaks directly to your ideal audience, they start paying attention.
3?? Content Alone Won’t Get You Clients—This Will…
Here’s a lesson that changed everything for me:
Content builds awareness, but conversations close deals.
I used to think that if I just kept posting, people would eventually reach out to me.
But that’s not how it works.
Yes, great content gets attention…
But real business happens in the DMs.
?? Here’s what I started doing instead:
? I engaged with people who liked or commented on my posts.
? I sent personalized messages to new connections (NOT sales pitches—just real conversations).
? I followed up with people who showed interest but didn’t buy right away.
And guess what? That’s when the inbound leads started coming in.
LinkedIn isn’t just a content platform—it’s a networking platform.
If you’re just posting and hoping for results, you’re missing half the game.
4?? Consistency Wins (But Not the Way You Think)
You’ve probably heard that posting consistently is key.
And yes, that’s true.
But here’s the real secret:
?? Consistency isn’t just about how often you post—it’s about the consistency of your message.
Your audience needs to:
?? See you as an expert in ONE clear area (not someone who posts about random things).
?? Understand your unique perspective on your industry.
?? Trust that you’re the person who can help them solve a specific problem.
So instead of posting random things every day, focus on a clear, repeatable message that builds your brand.
