JBI at the University of Adelaide is excited to announce that applications are open for its Postgraduate Research Degrees Program. Applications are invited from medical, allied health, and nursing professionals with a keen interest in evidence-based healthcare research and practice.?

JBI’s Postgraduate Research Degrees Program offers three pathways:?Master of Clinical Science, Master of Philosophy and?Doctor of Philosophy.

“We introduce students to methodologies and methods for systematic review developed by JBI, and then provide the support to students so they can compete and publish a systematic review during the program”, said A/Prof Edoardo Aromataris, Director of Synthesis Science at JBI.?

“Our focus is on practical clinical outcomes and support for student-led publications, ensuring a relevant and impactful opportunity for each student within their chosen field of practice.”

Key points about JBI’s Postgraduate Research Degrees Program

  • Interdisciplinary approach: JBI's multidisciplinary approach appeals to students interested in systematic reviews, the transfer of best practices, and the implementation of evidence-based methods.
  • Immediate relevance: The research topics are directly drawn from students' practice experiences, ensuring that the acquired knowledge has immediate "real-world" applicability.
  • Practical outcomes: The focus is on generating practical outcomes, allowing students to publish their research while in the program, thus contributing to the advancement of the field.
  • Flexible structure: The program spans over two years, with training sessions and research schools. This structure is designed to accommodate the schedules of busy health professionals and students from different geographical locations.
  • ?Access to resources: Students enrolled in the Master's or PhD level programs have access to world-class training in systematic review methodologies and methods, along with complementary access to relevant software such as?JBI SUMARI.

Scholarships

Applicants are encouraged to apply for?Research Training Program?scholarships.?Conditions of award?are outlined by the University of Adelaide.

Key dates

Application deadline: Interested candidates can apply until October 15, 2023. Interviews for potential candidates will be conducted on a rolling basis between September and November 2023.

This is the science of evidence synthesis and systematic reviews.
