Postfuturear: futures and foresight tools for times of?change

After the article about the Postnormal Times and discovering Jordi Serra, I fell into Postfuturear, an independent and multidisciplinary platform where knowledge is shaped as foresight tools and the stories of the future that the mainstream media provide us are critically looked. Far from reality, the future is actually a plurality of scenarios and we can learn to look at our futures in a more critical and proactive way.

Behind this platform are Elisabet Roselló Román, Albano Cruz aka “Naikodemus” and Rogelio Márquez García, and it’s great to find content in Spanish that talks about futures, even more when it’s full of interesting content, from articles on its blog, an amazing bibliography and even a Spotify playlist.

In 2011 the philosopher Franco Berardi published “After the Future”. In this book he exposed the concept of Post-future, a moment that we live in today where the future no longer represents exclusively the destiny of modern utopias, but where dreams had been broken since the 1960s.

Although it is not necessary to agree with all the proposal he subscribes to, Postfuturear does start from the idea that the future is a space to be built together, that it is not an ideal destination, and that there are several scenarios, probable and other more improbable, that we can decide with a margin of maneuver.

This is Postfuturear’s mission: to generate open knowledge and share tools. We live in a unique historical moment, where technology plays a very important role, societies are in transit towards 3 possible great cultural and economic models (some more positive, others more unequal) and in the face of an important climate crisis. This is why it is important to think and manage the futures in new and, above all, collective ways.
