If you’re an active LinkedIn user you know the organic reach of a post is down substantially over the past 6 months, so if your LinkedIn marketing was 100% invested in posting to LinkedIn from 2-3 times a week, I suggest you mix it up if you want to generate more opportunities.
1.??Put more effort into re-connecting with the network you already have, especially people you’ve been out of touch with. Research shows that our biggest opportunities come from those people we haven’t spoken to in a while versus our closest friends - they may offer social support, but not as much opportunity.
?Take Action: List out 6-10 work colleagues with whom you used to have a strong relationship but have since fallen by the wayside—at a minimum, with whom you haven’t had an in-depth conversation in two years. Invite them to a conversation simply to reconnect.
?2.???Learn to ask better questions. Go beyond the ‘What do you do” as an opening question. Even if you are networking online, if you want to stand out start by knowing something about the person – don’t ask them what they do if you’re reading their LinkedIn profile and it’s right on there!
Take Action: ?Make a list of possible questions you might ask someone.
examples:? “What are you looking forward to the rest of this year?” ????
“What’s exciting you right now (in relation to their industry)”
3.??Ask past clients for referrals. Warm leads will open doors to new opportunities faster than any other means of lead generation.? A good practice to ask for a referral when closing out a customer.
?Take Action:? Learn to ask clients “Is there anyone in your network that you think would benefit from my services?” If they respond with a yes, be prepared to send them a short sentence or two on how you want to be referred, this way you ensure the introduction is meaningful and what you want.
*Want an example?? Send me a message and I will share my referral statement.
4.? Create an online Event.? If you have Creator Mode turned on in your profile you have access to LinkedIn Live and LinkedIn audio events.? Add value to your network by inviting them to a presentation or conversation.
?Take Action:? Spend a little time familiarizing yourself with these two free features on LinkedIn. How can you implement a live event into your current marketing strategy? Did ou can notify your entire network of your event?
5.?Up your Email Marketing Game!? If email marketing isn’t part of your marketing strategy it should be.? People who opted into your email did it because you had something they were interested in. Give them more of that.
Take Action:? In addition to your current email marketing, consider adding a LinkedIn Newsletter.? You may reach new people who are not on your primary email list. Decide how often you will publish, name your newsletter something catchy and yet recognizable to let the subscriber know what it is about.? (My LinkedIn Newsletter is called the “LinkedIn Edge – Connect, Engage and Grow your Business & Personal Brand”)
So how can you implement more P-P? (people to people) in your business? Remember, people don’t do business with a building or a logo – they do business with people

5 个月I thought something is wrong. I joined LinkedIn around 2018-19. That was basically the start of my career. During that tenure I observed the creators of my industry booming. Fast forward to today, I don't see them on my feed, considering the factors that they upped their content game and the technologies aren't even outdated. I'd genuinely love to figure out a workaround since I've started investing in personal branding myself. And maybe that's merely an aspect of it, working on it will definitely open new doors of success in my career path as well!

6 个月JoAnne, I learn something new every time I read your posts. The one I did not know about was to ask for referrals from your network and I am interested in seeing your example. All of these are great tips.
