First Carbon Capture Tool for Airport Terminals Developed by IATA and Atkins

Working with Atkins, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, IATA has created a suite of innovative digital tools for airports to estimate the embodied carbon associated with the construction of terminal buildings and aviation assets – for the first time.

The digital toolkit will enable airports to better understand and mitigate the impacts of construction-related activities that contribute to carbon.

As the global aviation industry continues its post-pandemic growth, modernising and adapting infrastructure to meet Net Zero targets and the needs of sustainable aviation, the need to reduce embodied carbon in new buildings such as terminals and runways is ever more pressing.?

Statement: European Air Traffic Control Performance

Last week, IATA released a statement by its Director General, Willie Walsh, on the performance of European Air Traffic Control:

"Last month I expressed concern about Air Traffic Control (ATC) performance in Europe and the US. Both are disappointing. The ATC environment that all carriers in Europe are experiencing is challenging. Airlines and airports worked hard to ensure that sufficient resources would be provided to minimize disruptions and get travelers to where they need to be on time. Lack of ATC resources nationally—particularly in Germany and France are preventing that. While some areas of ATC performance have improved over 2022, we remain unacceptably behind 2019 levels."

Half of all passengers surveyed responded that they are travelling to a similar extent as they did prior to COVID

Chart of the Week: Survey Further Reveals Post-Pandemic Air Traveler Trends

IATA recently completed the 10th edition of the Passenger Trends and Insights Survey, undertaken in late April 2023. The survey asks more than 4,500 air travelers across 11 countries about their traveling habits and views towards the aviation industry.

Half of all passengers responded that they are travelling to a similar extent as they did prior to COVID, up 10 percentage points from a year ago.

Around 25% are travelling more than pre-COVID and a similar proportion are traveling less.

Understanding changes in passenger preferences and behavior is something that we will continue to monitor as the industry moves beyond the recovery phase.

Nonetheless, our current long-term forecasts present a positive outlook with global passenger demand expected to double over the next 20 years.

This page there are many people with the same situation and same pattern Latam asking for bank account and saying that the bank is refusing to receive the money all excuses. Can some one help us out and give us some direction? Do we have any rights as consumers? Do we get any protection agains airline abuse ? Please help thanks John
