Post-NAB: Trade Shows Still Power the Industry #WeR4Media

?It was good to be back at NAB.??

Though much has changed over the past few years and some elements on how we work, collaborate, plan, launch new companies and drive growth with forever changed - it was so great to experience the return of seminal industry events and get to see our peers, partners and friends in person again.

Through this evolution, we’re witnessing a dramatic shift to one of our most valuable assets - seminal trade shows and conferences. Not from a tactical standpoint of setting up booths, launching new products, and seeking best-in-show awards nominations.?But from the very essence of what makes seminal events special – the industry professionals that attend and the associations that host them.

Movements that matter and change the world are never brought to life in a vacuum.?Communities matter and tent pole events matter and we are proud to continue to recognize those organizations and seek ways to support them.

Black Dragon Capital attends major trade shows for our targeted industries because we are part of the community.?It allows us to stay up to date with the issues industry leaders are focused on, connect with emerging entrepreneurs and ideas, and keep on top of the emerging technology trends.?Naturally the best part is spending time with friends who have supported our journey and returning that support. The relationships are arguably our most valuable marketing metric.

We have an inherent interest in supporting NAB, in particular the NABPAC – the federal political action committee of the NAB. NABPAC promotes good citizenship and encourages voluntary contributions and participation in the political process by educating and mobilizing NABPAC eligible individuals to support candidates for political office who champion broadcast issues. The team fights for our collective interest on Capitol Hill, maintain standards of excellence and the rights of artists.

Amid the rapidly changing landscape, active participation in cornerstone industry trade shows is one of the most impactful means to support. We are incredibly humbled by the challenges our industry leaders are facing and are committed to supporting our industry family members such as NAB. It must remain steadfast - we cannot pick and choose when to provide support.

Curious - in your world and market, what are you and your company doing to support the key people and industry event movements that define and drive your industry forward???
