Post-Modern ERP Making Change Absorption Problematic

The postmodern ERP environment continues on its rapid adoption trajectory, and continues to evolve.

Cloud and other disruptive technologies are impacting the evolution of ERP. For example, artificial intelligence (AI) is delivering greater agility and value. However, the continual change that such disruptive technologies bring must be well managed or the organization will fail to realize its potential.

In this Dynamic Digital Business delivery model, SaaS is failing to provide solutions on time due to requirement change, scope creep etc.

Despite near parity in newer delivery methods, organizations still struggle to deliver ERP projects on budget and on time. One of factors is business partners often have only a partial view of customer needs and may struggle to translate that information into delivery priorities. This makes it even more difficult for delivery teams to get a holistic picture of customer needs.

Recommendations:

More agile environment with precise integrations.

Enabling SaaS delivery teams to take on end-to-end ownership of delivery outcomes to move past governance bottlenecks.

Working with cross-functional stakeholders to identify and remove barriers in corporate processes that slow customer-centric ways of working.

Maximizing delivery impact on the customer experience by aligning delivery resources, strategic decisions and team objectives to customer outcomes.

Reframing the application governance model to actively monitor product roadmaps. This allows applications of enhancements to improve business process execution, which can result in the decommissioning of customization.
