Post-Incident Reviews - UnitedHealthcare Hunt In NYC

One of the most important things to do after an emergency occurs and is stabilized, is to do a post-incident review. The New York Times wrote an article "Police Hunt for Gunman After UnitedHealthcare C.E.O. Is Killed in Midtown Manhattan" which has an excellent initial analysis of the incident, including a description of how the different pieces of evidence are being collected and how that is compiled to gain information about how the incident occurred. In light of this very sad tragedy, there are important lessons that can be learned to prevent future occurrences.

During these types of emergencies and incidents, it is equally important for supervisors, coworkers, and colleagues to check-in with each other and offer any assistance they may need. Because each person handles emergency situations and the aftermath in different ways, there are a variety of support and assistance resources out there.

Here is a compilation of links for "Mental Health and Employee Assistance Program Resources".
