POST-EXASCALE ERA

I am very pleased to announce that Katherine (Kathy) Yelick, the Vice Chancellor for Research and the Robert S. Pepper Distinguished Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley, will be delivering the ISC 2024 opening keynote talk on Monday, May 13!

In the keynote titled "Beyond Exascale Computing," she will address the challenges and opportunities of post-exascale computing for the scientific community. With the first exascale systems now online, a clearer picture of what will be needed in the future has become more apparent.?

To set the stage for her talk, Yelick will present the findings of the US National Academies report that reviewed the hardware and software technologies that are likely to be relevant in this new era of HPC. Notably, the report also considered the changing industrial and geopolitical landscape driving some of these technologies. To round out her presentation, Yelick will also offer some of her thoughts about how the research community will have to adapt to this new environment.
