Post Election Thoughts...
I’m honestly heartbroken by this outcome. I really believed in what we were fighting for, and it hurts to feel like we’re back to square one. But even though it’s hard to see right now, I know this isn't the end. There are still ways to make a difference and to keep pushing for what I believe in, even if it takes time. I'm just going to take a moment to process and then keep going, because giving up would mean all this effort was for nothing.?
Now more than ever, our community is what holds us together. It’s so important to reach out, talk things through, and make sure we’re taking care of ourselves—mentally, physically, and emotionally. Whether it’s healthcare, getting vaccinated, or just finding support in one another, let’s prioritize what we need to stay strong.
The work ahead will need all of us, and building mutual aid networks now will give us a foundation to rely on, well before any transfer of power takes place.
And remember, there’s a real silver lining: our Michigan Supreme Court is now largely led by justices who will uphold our values. With a more progressive state court, we have advocates within the system who can protect human rights and fight for justice. There’s still hope in this, and there are still people pushing forward for us.?
