Post COVID: Survival of the Fittest and Fastest

During this time of complexities, like COVID-19 pandemic, businesses are facing problems due to rapid change in technology, turbulent market conditions, extreme dynamic external & internal conditions and changing consumer behaviour. Businesses across many sectors have been urged to now operate remotely and quickly adapt to new ways of working. The role of leaders has become significant as they have to guide the entire workforce through this anxiety drifting around the whole ecosystem.

To be able to navigate the intricacies of the business ecosystem at present and in the future, entrepreneur’s leaders & each one of us of today and tomorrow will have to follow the mantra of ‘Learn, Unlearn and Relearn’.

After (Post) end of COVID-19 if each one of us doesn’t comes more skilful then surviving post COVID is going to be tough challenge. Market research firm Gartner highlights that just 20 percent of employees currently have the abilities required to succeed in their current and future job roles. Earlier big data analytics, artificial intelligence & cloud technology were only threats for jobs after COVID pandemic its going one more added challenge to everyone.

“Change is the only constant” which will lead to each organization, leader & employee to upskills themselves if they want to sustain in market. ( stay relevant )

§ Professionals will have to either consider reskilling acquiring completely new skills as they make the shift to a different career or upskill, where they enhance their current skill-set for competitive advantage and better prospects. 

§ Online learning platforms can open up instant access to cutting-edge, industry-relevant courses such learners need to reboot their careers. Most of the companies will ask for same in near future. Which will definitely open ample of opportunities for everyone.

§ Upskilling themselves for future ready with respect to new technology, new language, new management skills .

§ Take the time for some soul-searching and determine ‘your’ value proposition, your strengths, passions and skills. Ask yourself, your friends, and colleagues what you are known for. Build a compelling CV and ensure it accurately defines you. Personal branding is essential for anyone who wants to advance in their careers. It builds credibility, authenticity, and commands respect.

§ Managing your career effectively is essential if you want to maximize your happiness, income and success at work and life. Start by defining your career goals, list your competencies, and chart out action plan to achieve your goals. Refocusing from a response-to-stimulus strategy to a long-term action-oriented strategy will help you take charge and instil a sense of confidence.

§ Engage with others and create a community of professionals in the same field around you. Networking will not just help you stay on top of skills but can also be an excellent platform to meet potential clients, mentors or even employers. Start small by engaging with professionals online. 

 “Our brains will scan for threats in the midst of a crisis unless we create patterns to allow our brains to see the positive,” With everything that is keeping the global workforce occupied 24*7, it’s a good time to check-in and restructure our thoughts and approach where needed, and enable a faster and more resilient recovery from the global crisis & emerge as better individual post COVID.

Agreed expanding knowledge will be crucial,also the job which you are currently in,you will have to increase your efforts in order to bring the desired results on board,as everything is going to become very very competitive,irrespective of the function he/she may be in
