Post COVID-19 Return to Office Plan

Wondering what and how to communicate about COVID-19 as your business returns to the office?
First understand that you should develop a plan if you have employees, vendors and/or clients visit or work from your office. It's both prudent and the socially responsible thing to do. This doesn't have to be an expensive venture; in fact it can help significantly help you reduce the chance of a future lawsuit and save you money in the long run.
You should have a three-pronged communication system for returning to the office post COVID-19. The first part should address your employees. The second should address all who visit your office including clients and vendors. Finally, you should have a public facing component to share with the world at large.
You would be wise to conduct a fresh onboarding via your HR manager for your staff. In this onboarding meeting, share with your team the new policies in place to help keep everyone safe. From how they enter and maneuver around the building, to any change in hours, and the sanitation plan. This will help them feel appreciated, potentially calm their fears and of course help to keep everyone safe moving forward.
For your staff and any visitors from vendors and clients, you need to put up informational and public health signage. From the moment they approach your front exterior door there are signs to help communicate where people should be doing. Stand here, one way, maintain distance for the floors, walls, counters and more. There
Your Marketing and/or PR team should also work on a plan to communicate your plan to the public. How? Your plan can be shared via a press release, a series of social media posts, added to your website as a new page and shared via podcast appearances. The point is you want to let the public know that your company is doing the best possible job keeping your employees and customers safe. You can help build your reputation or you can ruin your reputation depending on how you effectively communicate your plan to the world.
So if you haven't fully developed your plan, I encourage you to get to it. Need help? We at ARC Document Solutions are going to be having a webcast on Tuesday May 12th at 11am Pacific Time. Register here: https://go.e-arc.com/Graphics_post_covid-19_webcast
