Possibly an Opportunity for Something Greater...

So there are several things that scare me about our country, but the one major topic that comes to the forefront is the failure of our public education.  I do not want to get on a soapbox and sound too "preachy;" however, when a video posted on the internet goes viral that obviously violates the basic rules of arithmetic, I see a definite collapse in general education of basic principles.

I was raised with computers, and I still believe they are an amazing wealth of knowledge, but unfortunately, one must learn to read and comprehend the material in order to have their own filter to make good use of the computer/internet.  I would like the opportunity to be at the head of that movement... to help educate our youth.  I do not have all the answers, but I do have a wealth of experience and training that I would love to spread to our future generations.

I donated several years of my life, which includes the time I did not get to spend with my own children and spouse, in the military.  That time in enlisted service has afforded me the opportunity to continue with my own education, but does not provide me with the full support to raise three children while allotting adequate time to complete my projects and study.  There are three basic things I want to do with the rest of my time I have in this existence:  create, educate, and illustrate.  With those things, I would like to be able to support my family.

I have a certain style of illustration that I have honed throughout my years.  It is a mixture of street art, graphic design, technical illustration/drafting, and stylized typography that I have coined as "Graphix Art."  I am adding story-boarding to my wheelhouse as I write this post, because over the last few quarters, it has become my focus in my current degree plan.  As I continue to tailor "Graphix Art" as a formidable style of illustration, I also would like to promote a concept of the TheSIS, or The Short Illustration Story.  Here is a panel that depicts the idea.

The premise is to incorporate intricate illustration (Graphix Art) with short stories to promote reading full prose vice singular short sentences, emoticons, and texts.  I am however inspired by M.C. Escher and Graeme Base, so I do believe in making rebuses and illustrated puzzles to promote creative thought and problem-solving skills.

My illustration style can be incorporated with story-boarding to do instructional presentations.  Here I am using a fictitious Rube Goldberg device of my invention to explain the different forces utilized by our conventional mechanisms.

I am posting a GoFundMe campaign that will help bring all of these ideas to fruition.  I also would like anyone who shares in similar philosophies to connect with me.  I would love to be your idea-man and help promote any projects that parallel the same ideologies.

Lastly, I would just like to say as the initial illustration says, "Let me illustrate your world."
