Is it possible to rig the US eletcion and Brexit

It strikes me that Clinton and Trump supporters have no problems suggesting that its possible to rig the US and other elections, I never took it for granted, but I have had my suspicions. My understanding of human nature tells me when people like Trump say that if they lose they may challenge rigged election it suggests to me that he has information that suggests this may happen and is giving a message. Then the FBI release information on Clinton at key time. So what is this thing they call democracy??????????????
