Is it possible to revive the child-like wonder through writing??

Childhood was magical. The vivid curiosity, the free imagination, the belief in possibilities without any restrictions - ?that was the phase when we were lost in our worlds, guided by stories, adventures, and fantasy.

Time flies. This world of possibilities felt like fading away. Responsibilities, expectations, and deadlines subdued the child-like qualities. But, you know what! There is still a way to rekindle that child-like wonder. WRITING!

?When Writing Reconnects with Wonder

In my journey as an author, I am not just creating stories. I am having a reunion with myself. Developing plots or bringing characters to life are somewhere expressive of the child-like sense of possibility and enthusiasm. My pen is that bridge that transports me back to the phase when everything new was brimming with potential.

The blank page, the blank screen is a canvas. No rules, no restrictions, all I see is the freedom of imagination, the freedom to dream and create. Writing is a reminder that the world is full of stories waiting to be let out.

?How Writing Helped Me Patch Up With My Creative Spark

1. Rekindles Playfulness?

Are you feeling the pressure to write perfectly, structure the sentences to impeccable perfection, or follow strict guidelines? I too feel the same sometimes. But, do you know that true creativity unfurls itself when we don’t brood over perfectionism? Writing allows me to experiment with words, plots, and ideas.

2. Switches On Imagination?

What would a world look like where humanity is non-existent? How would a character start reading minds? These thoughts often push the boundaries of my creativity. It doesn’t restrain imagination. Writing permitted me to dream.

3. Sparks Curiosity?

Is your child-like curiosity alive? Do you ask questions as freely as you did in your childhood? Curiosity is essential for writing. As writers, we are compelled to query "What if?" and create immersive stories, surprising readers, and fueling conversations. Writing has made me curious again. It has gifted me with an open mindset.

?4. Enjoying the Process?

I am asked often, “When are we getting your new book?” Guess what! I am not rushing to bring my next book faster to satisfy such queries. I am building a story and I love the twists and turns I am incorporating. I am enjoying the process of crafting the psychological thriller shaping up. The finished product will be out when I feel I have completed writing and thoroughly edited it.

Writing Brought Me Closer to Self

Writing is not merely a form of expression. It’s my reconnection with the fearless, curious, and dreamy child who found stories everywhere. I found that missing piece lost in the trap of adulthood. Writing made me more open to new ideas, more eager to experiment, and more enthusiastic to share my stories with the world. Writing has helped me rediscover the magic in my daily life.

?Should Writers Share Their Stories?

The craft of writing is transformative, for the author as well as the reader. What is a great story? It is the story that can carry readers, to a world of boundless possibilities. It can help readers appreciate the beauty of imagination. As an author, I am glad to be able to take others into the worlds I’ve created. Sharing these stories feels like rekindling the child-like wondrous vibes within me and the readers.

Stay connected with me on this journey of rediscovery. Did you enjoy reading this reflection on writing and creativity? Share your opinion! I would love to interact.

I like the article a lot. For me too writing is communicating with myself. Recapturing the moments which brought joy in our childhood, childhood itself. With a little imagination you can create a whole new world!
