Possible | Rethinking higher education

What if every student had access to the same high-quality educational tools??

This week, Aria Finger and I are joined by Ben Nelson to discuss higher education.?

Ben is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Minerva Project , a for-profit educational organization that created the non-profit Minerva University with the mission of reforming global education through an interdisciplinary curriculum and fully active learning pedagogy.?

Ben talks about how we can increase people’s access to an elite education that prepares them for success as both professionals and citizens. Also, Ben responds to GPT-4 stories that reimagine what a “classroom” really can be.?

We wont need traditional colleges anymore once we start embedding all the text those colleges use inside of LLMs. That's one of my goals for sure. Then will have personal tutors embedded with domain knowledge where everyone from every socio-economic status can benefit. The writing is already on the walls.

Not just higher education. AI-enabled solutions can create personalized learning opportunities for children as well. It's coming.

I completely agree with your perspective on education benefiting from advances in AI. It's inspiring to see thought leaders like Ben Nelson discussing the potential of AI tutors, VR/AR, and the combination of technology and human development in education. The Minerva Project seems to be at the forefront of exploring these exciting opportunities. It's essential to continue reimagining classrooms and learning environments to make the most of these advancements in technology, policy, and pedagogy. Thank you for sharing this insightful episode and promoting meaningful discussions on the future of education.

trying to quantify education i.e., measuring how much is absorb by student, how concise learnings are imparted by teacher, etc... all with the use of technology <= it may not work to churn out top students 100% of the time. ? higher education = university of hard knocks i.e., the organization you work for/with. And you get lots of skill base learning which is part of the lifelong learning journey. companies have a role here. Just my thoughts.
