What does AI literacy mean for students and their teachers??
Code.org Chief Academic Officer Pat Yongpradit —himself a former middle school computer science teacher—joins Aria and me this week on a special episode of Possible, recorded in front of an audience at ASU+GSV Summit , which brought thousands of leading ed-tech and workforce innovators together in San Diego last month.??
Pat leads the steering committee at TeachAI, a global initiative empowering educators to teach with and about AI. It was interesting to hear him speak to the areas where we can be using GenAI to help amplify both teachers and students in the K-12 setting. We discuss why school-wide bans on AI are a terrible idea and what “always be learning” refers to in an age of AI. Plus, Pat unveils, for the first time publicly, Code.org ’s newest tool for teachers: an AI assistant that helps computer science teachers grade assignments.?

Pat Yongpradit from Code.org highlights how AI can enhance education and argues against school bans on AI. Continuous learning and tools like Code.org's new AI grading assistant are key. This Possible episode offers great insights on AI in K-12 education.
AI literacy is increasingly important as technology evolves. It equips individuals to navigate an AI-infused world, make informed decisions about AI technologies, and contribute to responsible and ethical AI development. Understanding AI is crucial for both students and educators to harness its full potential responsibly and innovatively.

5 个月Agreed Reid Hoffman no amount of AI can replace kids learning data structure and system thinking. People who know basics CS principles will outshine non CS folks in AI era
While?it’s?great?for students to get this kind of hands-on experience using AI, the real value is in teaching them the?importance of responsible and ethical?use.
