Is It Possible For AI to Replace Jobs?

I am Prabnek Singh. Many people know me as Anek Bedi. Have you noticed the intersection of Artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on jobs? Did any of you think that you would be able to do so many creative jobs in minutes? If I talk about perspective, then I never thought that through this we would be able to create a website in minutes.

However, it might be worthwhile to compete with AI's work rather than just the work of children. You cannot dress this up in such a way that your work will be comparable to that of any expert. Read this article till the end to know why I am saying this, or am I just scared of the concept of AI replacing jobs?

How is AI a Bigger Threat Than Automation to Millions of job seekers?

If we talk about before 2023, you all had only heard the names of automation and robots or humanoids. The name of automation was becoming associated with every industry.

But as soon as tools like ChatGPT come into existence, they give a boost to conversations like prompts, making jobs easier. It mainly had jobs related to these industries:

• IT
• Software
• Tech and media
• Creative agencies
• New-age platforms serving the digital economy.

I have seen thousands of people say that AI will replace many jobs. So on this point, I want to draw your attention to two interviews with Arvind Krishna, who is the CEO of IBM Company.

Interview 1:

In an interview with CNBC, Arvind Krishna said that the rise of artificial intelligence will create more jobs than it will take away. He said that improvements in AI would help the economy grow, which in turn would lead to more job opportunities.

Interview 2:

Arvind Krishna also mentioned in an interview with Barron's that AI is not going to throw everyone out of work or destroy the world. He believes that AI will not only enhance efficiency but also replace professions that are becoming harder to fill in shrinking labor markets.

So what do you think after reading these two interviews?

1. Can AI replace jobs by replacing professionalism?
2. Or vice versa, it can help people in jobs who are not professionals in their line.

So now I would like to tell you my perspective. AI can never target at least such industries where we need labor. These labor-intensive careers are:

• Construction (6%)
• Installation and Repair (4%)
• Maintenance (1%)

It does not mean at all that you should leave your white-collar jobs and start doing any blue-collar jobs. Rather, I want to explain to you that you should become experts in your field.

Why Artificial Intelligence Won't Replace Humans

Look, I am not here to bore you at all. Especially by saying all this that AI lacks emotional intelligence or creativity. But it will be a matter of thinking about whether AI can cook and feed you good food. Now some people may argue that yes, AI can cook better food than those who only know how to make Maggi and tea. So let me tell them that I have already said this thing above.

AI won’t destroy our professionalism; AI could only help those who do not do that work professionally.

AI is unlikely to fully replace jobs requiring high emotional intelligence, such as those of therapists, social workers, and nurses. Specialized professionals, such as doctors, lawyers, and scientists, are less likely to be fully replaced by AI.

The Future of Work in the Age of AI

Now let's talk about the future and what will help in our work, or whether it would be wrong to use AI in our work. AI is making our work easier, so why not improve our expertise with its help?
