Here’s the summary of my May Positivity Posts. Enjoy and let’s take this positive energy into June, because my theme for June is change and change is hard!
Positive Mindset :
Think - Can-do, Growth, Possibility.
Do – These 7 things:
1) Wear your Possibility Lens - Look through a lens of what's possible, not what's impossible;
2) Embrace Challenge - Have a go. Think about what you can learn from an experience;
3) Believe in Better - Look at what can be changed, improved, or different;
4) Persist - many things can be overcome with sheer determination to go-forward;
5) Get There - give it your absolute best effort, this is the best way is to improve at anything;
6) Ask for Feedback & Reflect - ask people how you did. Ask yourself. Understand the truth.
7) Get Inspired - who else is making things happen? What, how, transfer.
Being Positive :
Think – Being positive is a choice
Do – These 7 things:
1) Look for it - Catch the positive: look for positive things, not negative things.
2) Celebrate it - Give positive feedback: TLC" –Tell it, Label it, Celebrate it!
3) Share it - Be a positive energy giver: Like a super fan- pass on that energy.
4) Model it - Be your best self: personal improvement. Do 1 thing better today.
5) Befriend it - Surround yourself with positive people & you will become more positive.
6) Embrace it - Read positive, watch positive: Soak it up, positive tactics and feel-good content.
7) Reflect on it - Be grateful: What are you grateful for? Write it down daily.
Positivity Context :
Think – Circle of control. What can I control, vs influence, vs not?
Do – These 7 things:
1) Choose your situation carefully - If you have a choice, pick the best situation for your outcome.
2) Acting within your Circle of Control- your attitude, beliefs, decisions, actions.
3) Follow positive leaders – who do you admire, who cares, supports, brings positivity?
4) Set positive Action Triggers – Putting positive things in front of us, helps us stay positive.
5) You choose how you think – i) Think of other, be unselfish; ii) Think of possibilities.
6) Focus shared time & energy with positive people, not negative people.
7) If you can, get rid of negative people: No energy vampires. Get the right people on the bus.
Be Grateful:
Think – Gratitude is a lens through which we can view life & a gateway to fulfillment.
Do – These 5 things: (add playing music & creating art for 6 & 7 if appealing)
1) Gratitude journal - write down up to three things you’re grateful for daily.
2) Gratitude walk - (insert jog / run for some also, perhaps) take in the world around you.
3) Gratitude talk - Saying thank-you, writing thank-you to show genuine appreciation.
4) Gratitude meditation - Focusing on senses, relationships, yourself & life.
5) Gratitude stone – Put in pocket. Every time you pick it up, think what you are grateful for.
