Positive Matters
July 2021 -?Positive Schools is a Systems Approach
Welcome to the?July edition of Positive Matters.?Your?monthly newsletter to accompany your subscription to Positive Schools Online.
This month, we?are featuring?the important contributions of the effervescent nutritionist Michele Chevalley Hedge.?
Also this?month,?you can read my new article exploring?the development of 'Positive Schools' as a philosophy and approach to creating thriving school communities. We also offer a thought about attribution, a fact about sleep and a question about self-acceptance...
Last but not least, we have exciting information to share about the Positive Schools 2021 conferences - to be presented in-person and now also online!
Positive Schools Online?runs?under the auspices of?the University of Western Australia (UWA)?and is proudly partnered with the?Berry Street Education Model (BSEM).?
Since the pandemic changed all of our lives, I?have found myself far more interested in?sourdough bread and wine,?than I am?in?green juice?and salad...It?therefore seems timely to consider the?relationship between our?diet, our health and our wellbeing.
Michele Chevalley Hedge is a?qualified nutritionist, health author?and an expert in nutritional medicine. She is also the founder of A Healthy View.
Michele is great at offering grounded?advice about how to?achieve your best physical and mental health with your diet. She offers?realistic , simple?ideas; free from?overwhelming jargon?or the empty promises of?a fad diet.?
Michele has spoken at both the Australian Positive Schools conferences and our SE Asian events. In particular, I?have taken on board her advice to always check the sugar content in foods, even when they are food displayed in the 'healthy' isle.

I recently enjoyed a 'Critical Conversation' with Michele about how to eat for all the right reasons, when I know through my own experiences that it is so hard not to eat for all the wrong ones.
