Positive Psychology Resources

Positive Psychology Resources

"Where do I find out more?" is probably one of my most frequently asked questions and it's only just occurred to me that if I list the sources in an article, it'll be easier for everyone! So here, along with enormous gratitude to those listed are some excellent sources of information and support.

The Positive Psychology Center at the University of Pennsylvania - This is where most of the PP legends hang out and share ideas. It’s the largest academic collection of research, articles and events and where the broadest exploration of PP will be found including clinical, environmental, military, academic, individual and organizational.

International Positive Psychology Association - The professional association, they host GREAT conferences!

The Center for Positive Organizations (CPO) - at Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, as the name suggests it’s all about PP in orgs.

Martin Seligman - Founder of PP and author of numerous books including latest ‘The Hope Circuit’ which looks fascinating…

Mihaly Csiksentmihalyi - One of the early founding fathers of PP and known particularly for the discovery of FLOW, co founder of the Quality of Life Research institute.

David Coopperrider - Founder of Appreciative Inquiry (AI) which enables appreciation-based discovery to be scaled to enterprise and community wide applications.

The AI Commons - Where the practice and applications of AI hang out.

Michelle (chelle) McQuaid - Former marketing guru and doctoral student, she makes PP very assessable and practical.

Tal Ben-Shahar - Harvard professor of PP and leadership.

Barbara Fredrickson - University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill focuses on positivity and the role of positive emotions in thriving and flourishing.

Jane Dutton - University of Michigan, focuses on compassion (with Monica Worline), positive relationships at work, job crafting and positive identities compassion.

Sonja Lyubomirsky - University of California, Riverside, focuses on happiness.

Christine Porath - Georgetown University, focuses on civility and incivility.

Marcus Buckingham - Marcus has probably done more to popularize strengths than anyone else on the planet, and he's English. enough said!

Live Happy magazine - Delivers PP in non academic form.

The Positive Psychology Podcast - Small bites of good stuff.

Thank you Alison for the resources. Thank you for our great discussion on what to consider in the hiring of coaches in yesterdays St. Thomas coaching class! This curious 'chap' looks forward to learning and incorporating more positive psychology into my coaching practice.
