Positive Pressure Sample Prep
Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) is a great way to clean up samples from complex matrices for downstream HPLCMS analyses. The technique was developed, and first commercialised during the last Millenium. During the mid 1980's most SPE was carried out on columns that used a vacuum system to condition the column, apply the sample / wash buffers and then to finally elute the sample ready for downstream analyses.
Tecan have bought SPE into this Millenium by combining small particle size monodispersed sorbents, Narrow Bore Extraction (NBE) columns / plates and positive pressure systems. All this leads to a greener sample preparation. You can reduce your sample volume, reduce your buffer / solvent volume and reduce your hands on time. It is rather like taking the leap from HPLC to UPLC yes you need to prove the two techniques are equivalent but the long term benefits are clear to be seen.
Currently Tecan are running a promotion our our SPE consumables so not only do you save on your hands on time, your solvent / buffer costs you also save money on your SPE consumables.
