Positive Networking Attracts More Customers

What makes a business great to deal with or work for?

Positivity!

People with a positive attitude lift and motivate others to be their best and do their best. Positive attitudes build positive relationships.

And positive relationships make a business thrive.

The cornerstone of positive relationships is respect.

So whether it's communicating with your customers, your employees or co-workers, distributors or suppliers... people deserve respect, deserve to be treated and spoken to the way you expect to be treated.

And this is the piece of networking that is often missing.

Networking is about building relationships, not just getting more contacts or talking at people.

New contacts are people you have something in common with. Build on that before you try to sell them anything - including your services.

This is true in all social media. You're communicating..."talking" one on one with each individual who reads your posts. Respect your audience as you would respect any client.

Email marketing, newsletters, blogs - all communication should respect the intended audience. Respect for their time. Gratefulness for their attention - don't mislead with a headline that has no bearing on your article or email. Don't go on and on when you've clearly made your point.

And be sure to "give" your audience something informational that they can use or learn from.

That is how you build relationships. If you want them to come back and read your newsletters or blogs...or open your emails, you need to respect their time and earn their respect.
