Positive Emotional Shocks

I share with the readers three real stories that show how we can use emotional shocks for good purposes.

Mr. X was a heavy drinker. He spent most of his nights at bars where he spent most of his earnings. He gained reputation as the man of bars.

One day he walked home and found his adult daughter in tears. He asked her why she was crying. She replied because the girls at school mock me that shall not get married. They ridiculed her for having a father of such reputation.

That instance disrupted the father. He promised his daughter never to drink again. Since then he became a most devoted father.

The second story is my own while visiting Cairo to meet with a senior official. He welcomed me in his office and introduced me to a woman who shared the same surname. After a while, I lit a cigarette. The woman asked me are you leading an organization. I said yes. Then she how can you then make good decisions if you fail to make good one for yourself by quitting smoking.

That was the call for me to change.

The third story is about who child who saw his father smoking and coughing. The son asked his father innocently if he cared for him. The surprised father asked him why he was asking. The son replied because if you care about me you would not risk your life and leave me alone in this world.

That was in 1995 and since that day the father became a heavy anti-smoking advocate.

Sometimes emotional words have magical effects.

Positive emotional shocks. It affects our behaviors powerfully more than we can imagine especially coming from the people we love and respect positive emotions affects our brains in ways that increase our awareness, attention and awaken memory at the end is a win win situation. The Woman that shocks you on smoking safes you from you and behold we are the beneficial today. The harassment of the little girl at school transferred to her father safes him same with the little son questions his father of he cares about him . All the stories a inspiring encouraging powerful admonitions Thanks for sharing we gain one way or the other every day keep the good work We appreciate remain blessed always ??????????

It is interesting that we are willing to do something for the people we care about that we are not willing to do for ourselves. Perhaps we don't realize/are willing to accept that we matter to somebody, particularly if we have negative self-worth?

There is always a duality between emotion and rational and devoid of rational we evidently emerge as animal! I wonder about the company providing employment to many as well people engaged in production of wine and cigar and the managers working there, how apt they too are in taking decision to expand their business! It is true discarding bad habit is always good for the society as we all are social being, but to make wisdom as habit is equally difficult! however, wonderful insights sir Ali Anani, PhD! enjoyed read immensely your usual enriching post. Thank you for the share sir.
