Porsche. Dream Together 2021
At Porsche, we want to act in a sustainable way, assuming responsibilities towards our community, the environment, and society. Therefore, Porsche has supported several cultural and sporting activities in Japan through scholarships, donations, sponsorships, and in-house developed initiatives.
Porsche. Dream Together is an extensive program to help young people find their dreams for the future. We believe that helping youngsters to have dreams—and make their dreams come true—contributes to a sustainable future.
We did this by acting in three directions. We provided special lectures and events, facilitated scholarships, and carried out sustainable environmental conservation activities. I’m very proud of some of the initiatives that we successfully held this year, including the scholarship program LEARN with Porsche, the Blueberry Run, the Kisarazu Organic Rice school lunch project, and other environmental activities.
Porsche. Dream Together has three core pillars: SUSTAINABILITY & COMMUNITY, HAVE A DREAM, and GROW A DREAM.?
Environmental conservation initiatives with the Kisarazu community
With the opening of the Porsche Experience Center Tokyo, Porsche Japan signed the Natural Environment Preservation Agreement with Chiba Prefecture on June 15, 2020.
Environmental efforts include preserving the natural environment, helping the area’s vegetation recover, and establishing designated wetland life preservation areas to preserve
Kisarazu Organic Rice School Lunch Project
We endorsed the Kisarazu organic Rice School Lunch Project, an initiative to provide organically-grown rice to elementary and junior high schools in Kisarazu. This program has helped increase awareness of food and healthy behaviors through organic locally-grown rice.
Kisarazu Blueberry Run
The Porsche Experience Center Tokyo was the home of the Kisarazu Blueberry Run, an annual team running event for Chiba residents. About 1,000 runners joined the race to promote a healthy living lifestyle among residents.
Disaster cooperation agreement with Kisarazu
Porsche Japan also signed an agreement with the city of Kisarazu on September 30, 2021 to provide community support in the form of personnel, vehicles, and supplies in case of disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, wind and water damage, and other major accidents.
■ HAVE A DREAM
KATARIBA special lecture
Our partner, NPO Katariba, which mission is to bring eagerness and creativity to all teens, hosted a special lecture with Porsche AG exterior designer, Shuichi Yamashita, as part of the online learning program Katariba Online. Yamashita told his personal story of how he followed his dream to become a Porsche car designer. Hopefully, this inspired more than one kid to find a passion and set a dream for the future.
■ GROW A DREAM
LEARN with Porsche scholarship program
LEARN is a unique and innovative scholarship program that aims to help students pushing the boundaries of the future, giving them the right mindset and dreams. The program teaches participants to seek answers through experiences and by interacting with people rather than using electronic devices. LEARN ran for five days as a hands-on training camp for ten junior and high school students selected from around the country.
I am very proud of our team’s actions in 2021. It is an extreme pleasure for me to represent Porsche while supporting environmental efforts in local communities in Japan.
I want to congratulate all the residents of Kisarazu and the Porsche Japan team for making this possible. I also feel highly honored with the Kisarazu community and their decision to name a public street with our name. How incredible!
Looking forward to 2022, we look forward to prioritizing more efforts for the community of Chiba prefecture and Kisarazu, the home of the Porsche Experience Center Tokyo. This is just the beginning!
Let’s dream together.
