The Pope called on Ukraine to wave white flag and capitulate

“Ukraine must have the courage to wave the white flag and negotiate with Russia," says Pope Francis in an interview with the Swiss public television RSI, which will broadcast on March 20, 2024.?“When you see that you are defeated, that things are not going well, you have to have the courage to negotiate".?

To which the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitri Kuleba answered that the flag of Ukraine is yellow and blue, no white, and they will fight to the last Ukrainian.

The “Ukrainian society” was outraged by the Francis' statement which they considered “old and ?perverted”.

“In these times of humanism, it is very strange to hear from the Pope an offer to the victim of the aggressor - give up now and look for someone who will help you bargain so that you lose less”, answered Maxim Buzhanski from the Ukrainian Parliament.

For what kind of humanism we are talking here when hundreds are being killed every day and the number will continue to grow exponentially because the most soldiers have been killed at the very end of the World War Two before the Russians entered Berlin and the German capitulated.

Then the Pope continued the conversation in the media trying to justify what he had said before. “Negotiations are never capitulation,"?added the Holy Father's press office.

But then the Holy Father asked “how many more deaths?”

How many more deaths? Have you seen the newly dug sites for cemeteries with thousands of graves and the flags on them, the Yellow and Blue flag, Mr. Kuleba? Don’t try to lie to the people and don’t try to hide the truth because it is in every media already, and even the EU President ?Ursula von der Leyen opened the cover of the numbers dead one year ago.

That is the question that bothers me for a few days and I will continue to discuss it till somebody starts to think and stops this madness. The last 24 hours on all the directions of the Ukrainian-Russian front have been killed around 900 Ukrainian soldiers according to the Ministry of Defense of Russia. And even this number is a form of propaganda, even if that is less number, it is a gigantic war machine that is time to be shut off.

Kuleba and Zelenski, and their cohort, it is time to see the reality as it is and to save your people. That is the humanism. Because everything could be restored, economy could be rebuilt, but the dead people you can’t fix.

The Pope is consistent in his opinion that the war has to be decided with negotiations and sooner it happens better for all the people of Ukraine. In September 2023 the Pope said the war is beneficial only for the arms dealers and some countries are using Ukraine as tool. Now he is ready to wave the white flag. ?

The Pope speech on the Swiss media was directed to the French speaking public mostly and as a response to the French President Macron, who showed his readiness to send ground troops to Ukraine this week. At the moment the French President Macron is gathering support and trying to form another Anti-Russian Coalition for his idea to enter Ukraine with troops. If he has foreign legion with foreigners to lose their lives in the war other countries don’t have that luxury and have to send their sons in that meat grinder. Macron could find some support for the idea in the Baltic republics, but as a whole most of the NATO countries are unwilling to fight in Ukraine.

But the Pandora box was opened and it has to be cushioned by something like the Pope words, which has authority among the Catholics in the USA, whose representative is President Biden. Biden doesn’t want to lose the support of his religion group before the elections that is big amount of the Spanish speaking population. The words of Macron intended to scare Russia, scared all the European citizens and politicians. And also some of the still thinking people in the USA. Entering Ukraine with gound troops of NATO countries was avoided till now but it could have unpredicted consequences and could escalate in a nuclear world war.

In the USA the next help for Ukraine is blocked by now, but what is interesting here is that the help for Ukraine and the help for Israel are connected in one bundle. On the background of the ongoing every day protests in support of Palestine, Biden can’t justify his further help for Israel. In the USA people don’t protest against Ukraine or Russia and don’t care about Ukraine, but protest against Israel. How to justify the military help. Here comes his support from the Pope, who plays as the good cop and bad cop scenario. The Pope gives that cushion for Biden talking about peace in a time when the whole administration of the USA is trying to squeeze more dollars for the war and for the real invasion of NATO in Ukraine. Macron is not acting as solo player; he is under the directives from Washington, pretending that this is his initiative to enter Ukraine with ground troops. But the idea has to be assimilated somehow and every absurd idea from the beginning with some technics can be presented further as acceptable and even natural.

It is a very sneaky slippery turf for the President of the USA before the elections, on which the international diplomacy is playing the next spectacle that is intended to escalate or stop. My hopes are that the rational people will stop the madness, but the fact that the movie “Oppenheimer”, about the creation of the atomic bomb, got the most Oscars this year, doesn’t sound optimistic.

In the last scene of the movie, Oppenheimer, the creator of the bomb, talks with the famous physicist Einstein asking him: “When I came to you with those calculations, we thought we might start a chain reaction that would destroy the entire world”, to which Einstein replies: “I remember it well. What of it?”. Oppenheimer replies: “I believe we did.”
