Pop the cork!

Pop the cork!

What is it with us Brits? Why do we find it so hard to shout about our achievements? To be honest, I’m the worst for this. I am incapable of even putting a simple review on my Facebook page, I literally have a social media team that does it for me. When it pops up, I spend half a day hiding behind a pillow because I’m so embarrassed that I had the audacity to show potential clients what my existing clients think of me.

Ridiculous right?

Well, here’s where it gets tough for me. Whilst I can completely understand someone’s reluctance to want to shout about their achievements in business, I am now embarking on a new venture where it forms a huge part of what I offer.

Milestone Events!

The thing is, I think these are a great idea. I genuinely think that as business owners, we work so hard to make a success of things that we absolutely should celebrate when things go well. Things such as;

Anniversaries

Awards

Opening a second, third of forth branch

Landing the deal of a lifetime

A long-standing staff member

A business launch

All of these things are huge achievements and should be celebrated. Whether it’s a simple meal for you and a small team or a large party that involves your clients and suppliers, regardless of how simple or extravagant, you deserve this!

It’s time to get our heads around it. Lots of larger businesses celebrate in style but we, as small business owners are being left behind.

So, what do you have coming up? Are you about to hit the one-year mark? One year in business is a huge deal! Have you recently expanded, have you been nominated for a big award? Don’t you think you deserve a little recognition?

Still not sure? Then let’s look at it from another perspective. How would you like a huge PR opportunity? Well here it is!!!

You hosting an event to celebrate your milestone will only bring you the right attention. It’s an opportunity to show your clients, suppliers and potential clients that you are a legitimate and credible business and someone they want to deal with.

Why miss out on that?

So, let’s make a pact. You and me. In it together. Next time we have something coming up that we know deserves a celebration, we go for it! You with me?
