Is the poor 19% hydrogen energy efficiency an issue or is it the 100%-19%=81% hydrogen energy waste ?

The efficiency of the hydrogen energy cycle is indeed very poor ...
The hydrogen gas succes story is that it can help to store some energy from solar and wind for windless night consumption ...
To compress hydrogen to the same energy per volume as petrol and diesel and kerosine you need 700bar pressure in the hydrogen tank ...
Anyway
In climate science there are too many unanswered questions and too many unquestioned answers ...
But : Health & Climate & Energy are really very complicated and delicate politico-scientific stuff and also socio-economic stuff but we do the best we can and try to explain it as simple as possible but not simpler than that in the group :

There is no need for compression, they handle well, can be stored indefenately without losses, and there is a multitude of ways to free the stored energy again. It is the Natural solution. Of course there are losses in this cycle as well, but it is 'proven technology'. The conversions in nature require no more than basic natural elements.
