"THE POODLES OF PARK AVENUE" BY KAREN-CHERIE COGANE WELCOME AUTUMN 2023!

"THE POODLES OF PARK AVENUE" BY KAREN-CHERIE COGANE WELCOME AUTUMN 2023!

FAST FORWARD TO 9/23: “Hi! It’s Simone, the Park Avenue poodle! As Summer makes its exit, Fall is waiting in the wings with many wonderful things.

Autumn is the new star and as she enters center stage, she'll go far!

She is not shy, and she waves Summer bye-bye.

Autumn is ready for the spotlight, the applause, and all the oohs and ahhs.

Rest assured, Fall is not an understudy -- She is a lead, so take heed. Fall is the real deal with much beauty and appeal.

It's simple to understand why I love Fall so much. And as we ease into Autumn, it is not hard to adjust.

Hello to the splendor of Fall, the season that has it all!

Put yourself in an Autumn mood with an upbeat and renewed attitude.

With majestic Fall on the horizon, mother nature sure knows what she is doing.

Revel in the Autumn breeze and the foliage that accentuates the trees. Whether they are cascading or scattered on the ground, Fall beauty surrounds.

Gradually, the hues change, which is fine by me that it is not suddenly.

The colors of the season -- Green leaves become autumnal.

On any day, striking yellow, bright orange, and red foliage are a visual display.

The tulips on Park Avenue will linger for a while for all to view.

The birdies and ducks have not gone to Florida yet -- They want to enjoy all the New England Fall scenery they can get.

It is time to Autumn fashion shop and to skip, hop, and bop.

And it’s no surprise that Fall is a culinary feast for our tummies and eyes, with the emphasis on cakes and pies. Pumpkin, pecan, apple, and bursting berry creations are a sensation.

Baking at home or buying from a bakery, it’s all delicious! These luscious desserts, including cookies, never take a back seat, so just prepare to eat and eat.

There's the always desired cupcakes and muffins, some with yummy stuffing, for more Autumn flavors to savor.

Fall spices entice. Sprinkle in ginger, nutmeg, vanilla, allspice, or cinnamon to enjoy during a snack, for dessert, in your beverage, or just on a whim.

How about decadent cinnamon rolls served on plates or in bowls? Mommy gives me a little sample or two. Wouldn't you? I get on my hind legs and give her my innocent poodle 'Please?' look, and I guess that is all it took.

To rewind: Summer life was never a bore, since I had a super time at the Long Island shore. But it's clear that there is something special about this time of year.

I sauntered on the Amagansett beach and ate juicy East End peaches. Mommy got the fruit from the local Farmer's Market.

Seashells, starfish, and sand enhanced the scenic bucolic land.

Not that I am boasting, but I loved swimming with Ricardo, my handsome beau, in the Atlantic Ocean. Sometimes, thanks to my parents, gooey marshmallows at night were toasting. Yes, I'll have more s'mores!

When the tide rolled in my mom made us din. The Long Island seafood was great, as we sat on our lovely deck and ate. Flounder, fluke, shrimp cocktail, and clams for me and my fam.

Or we went out to dine at Hamptons' cafes. Sometimes we ate Maine lobster and oysters for the human and canine his and hers. I sampled lobster, as I was dressed in a bib. I mean, I'm Raymond and Grace's poodle kid. Ricardo wore a lobster bib, too. Yahoo!

Kept cool by splashing in my big built-in pool. When I see the cute swimming duckies, I smile and feel lucky. Sometimes they paddle in my pool; I guess they're off from animal school.

When I think of Summer, I ponder ocean water trickling on my back and the adorable sound of ducks that quack.

I played and frolicked during the sunny days.

I wore doggie sunscreen, so I did not get much of a sheen. The lotion felt kind of sticky, but I'm not trying to be picky. It's great that Grace cares enough to coat me with canine sun protecting stuff.

At our Hamptons place Raymond and Grace hosted lovely soirees. Safety is still always emphasized, and parties are kept not too large a size. Sometimes we went casual or dressed up, befitting me, their elegant poodle pup.

Grace always plans our social life and is such a good wife. When she asks my opinion, and I bark once for ‘yes’ and twice for ‘no.’ If I’m really excited about her idea, I’ll do my doggie pirouettes/spins, and then, we’re in!

Mommy always cheers up dad and gives attention to me, her devoted poodle, for which I am glad. Pop works many hours at the Wall Street investment bank, but during Summer, he enjoys much needed time to relax.

Back in NYC, my poodle feet felt the pavement summer heat. Therefore, paw rubs and massages can’t be beat. Lily, my Ma Belle Chien stylist, accommodates, which is so appreciated. I often wear little Summer booties to protect my tootsies.

Our dog walker, Frank, took us to new eats, and we explored other Manhattan streets.

And I’ll always love Café Beaucoup! Frank escorted me, Ricardo, and the temperamental and naughty Mojito. The Chihuahua has his complaining about everything bow-wow. Boy, am I happy when he takes a nap -- gives us a break from his annoying and shrill yap.

Now it’s time to have a ball in Fall!

Sound the trumpets! Hooray for Autumn vibes!

Enter sweater weather. Canines wear them, too, and bien sur, humans do. Hear, hear! I prefer cashmere.

Wrap yourself in an oversized soft throw or sweater when watching TV, or a comfy onesie. Drink hot tea or cocoa, eat some cookies, and you’ll feel toasty.

The children returned to school, and the Autumn air gets crisp and cool.

Shorter days and longer nights, but it's all right.

People will change the clocks, and kids wear knee socks. Little ones carry juice boxes.

What fun to wear a pretty first day of school outfit. We must look great, neat, and impress, reflected in the way we dress.

Joyful faces are happy to return to their classroom spaces.

It’s time to learn interesting and challenging things, and to hear the school bell ring.

Reading books and writing are exciting.

Buying school supplies motivates young and eager minds to feel wise.

Pencils, pens, notebooks, and computers, and who knows? Maybe even riding a scooter.

Lunch boxes filled with sandwiches, veggies, and healthy snacks, and cute charms dangling from backpacks. Moms often add yummy surprises for the kin.

Getting cubbies or nooks and hitting the books, studying new subjects.

Meeting your new teacher and cheering for your school’s team on the bleachers.

Your pals come up to you with a smile: ‘Hi! How was your Summer? What did you do? Did you go to camp? Haven’t seen you in a while!’

Making new friends . . .

Scampering on the playground and unwinding during recess, and lunch that kiddos love to do a bunch . . .

Parents pick up their mini-me, and they stroll down the street: ‘What would you like to eat? What’s your homework tonight, and I hope you didn’t fight.’

Frank takes us home before dark, after I scamper with Ricardo and uh, Mojito, in the leaves in Central Park.

My talented boyfriend catches the Frisbee with a dash, with such agility and panache. He is a natural athlete, and I love to watch him perform his feats.

As I stand by my love’s side, I watch Ricardo in pride: ‘Toss me one, okay? It's not my poodle Beauty Day, so I can get a little mussy today.’ I'm not scoffin' but don't do this, or fetch very often. Don't misunderstand -- I do like to run and have Fall fun.

Ricardo and I say: ‘Pop some in for us to eat!’ as Frank offers us bacon treats.

As for the never content and always complaining Mojito, he ‘settles’ for gourmet treats, but would rather have cold French fries and Fritos to eat.

Mojito gets peeved and heaves, when he gets covered with leaves. Frank helps him shake them off: ‘Don’t be upset and stressed. It’s just a little mess.’

Dining al fresco at Summer outdoor bistros will soon go away. But it's okay. The focus will be on eating indoors at Cafe Beaucoup and snuggling inside at home with your family and plus ones by your side.

I enjoy watching TV shows that premiere at this time of year. I’m tired of reruns and want new fun. Suspenseful dramas, music and dance reality TV, and comedies for my family and me.

Fall movies will be groovy. But will there be a flick to top Summer's 'Barbie' starring Margot Robbie?

Welcome Broadway, as in revivals, and new shows. Mom and dad love to go. Grace loves musicals, while Raymond prefers drama, and my tastes go more with my mamma.

I look forward to Halloween coming soon with ghosts, witches, vampires, skeletons, goblins, and a full moon.

I’ll admit that I’m a doggie who loves candy. I sneak tastes, since I don’t want Halloween to go to waste.

Costumes for people and pooches galore, and there’s more. Wonder what Grace will dress me up as this year. Stay tuned, and you’ll find out soon.

Maybe I'll go trick or treating; I know we’ll have a Halloween party at home. Mom's friends and my pooch pals from our building will come. Just give me some human stuff, dog sweets, and my sirloin steak bone. Of course, first I'll eat the steak, which is great.

Girls and fellas enjoy hot chocolate with marshmallows.

Leaf-shaped maple cookies, and gingerbread delights abound, and goodies with whipped cream mounds ... A dollop here, and a dollop there -- Wouldn't want the desserts to be bare. And who doesn't enjoy sweets to eat?

Sipping hot cider . . . Picking orange and white pumpkins, and juicy apples . . . Drinking fall-flavored Snapple . . .

If you're adventurous go to an actual pumpkin patch. Natch. Have loads of fun picking the right pumpkins!

Mommy carves pumpkins and adds cute faces. Leave it to Grace.

Hayrides are fun for people and canines -- for everyone.

Lighting aromatic Fall scented candles and putting up decorations for happy occasions, and celebrations ...

Watching football, whether it’s college or the NFL. Routing for your fave team is swell. Eating chips, dip, and snacks as you weekend, or weeknight relax. My beau wishes he could eat nachos, but they're not for doggies.

Getting college dorm ready . . . Buying cute stuff and practical things to organize, whatever your dorm room size. Making your room your home away from home.

Tailgating before college football games . . .

Homecoming . . .

Joining sororities and fraternities . . .

Eating comfort food like casseroles and hearty soup . . .

The holidays come after, sharing beaucoup food and laughter.

Put on some music and dance, and how about an Autumn romance? Maybe even Fall in love!

I bet you think, 'How can a poodle like me have this point of view?' Sometimes I wonder, too.

Even though you put away your swimsuits, summer shorts, and light tanks, give many thanks.

Today’s a new day! Hooray!

Make your parents proud and glad, and let’s be happy, not sad.

There’s terrific fashion for Fall, whether you're petite, average, or tall.

Put on your spiff, whether you work from home sometimes or are back full-time at the office!

The latest and greatest trends are surely chic . . . so stunning . . . effortlessly stylish . . . certainly sexy . . . unequivocally beautiful . . .

Innovation and jubilation are in the air with nouveau fashion and lively colors to wear.

It’s with good reason that some on-trend hues emulate the Autumn season. Other shades brighten up cooler Fall days. Experiment and color wheel play!

Just go for it with Fall's fashion palette.

Not trying to poodle gloat, but please take note.

This Autumn it's all about vivid and rich color for hers. I surmise that this can also apply to guys.

This is coming to you from the 'Canine Couture Commentator!' That would be me! Yippee!

For great tips on new trends in makeup, please listen up!

I know about makeup galore since I frequently go with mom to a famous NYC beauty store! I stand on my hind legs, as we peruse the makeup aisles with a smile. Grace elaborates what brands and products she thinks are great. What fun when she gives me the beauty 411!

News Flash: According to makeup guru, Pat McGrath, these trends were seen all over the runway, the catwalk. Hey, why don't they call it the "Dogwalk?"

FALL 2023 BOLD BEAUTY AND MAKEUP:

1.Larger-than-life lashes. Try Benefit’s "They’re Real,” “Bad Gal Bang," or “Rollerlash," Too Faced “Better Than Sex,” or Tarte’s “Lights, Camera, Lashes” mascara.

2. Crystalized red lips that appear vampiric. Red lips have savoir faire, whatever clothing you wear.

3.New take on the smoky eye that is glimmering -- Not glitter but yay for metallics!

4.Exaggerated winged eyeliner

5.Thick eyeliner on the upper and lower lids

6.Neon and electric shades of eye shadow that are contrasting. Picture eye candy in neon purple, bubblegum pink, lemon yellow, vibrant teal, and lime green. You can wear eye shadow, eyeliner, and mascara alone or together for real eye pizazz! Try blue mascara on your lashes for more impact. If you want just a hint of this look, do a flick, or for the more daring, go thick!

7.Layered eye shadow

8.Liquid liner traced on in funky shapes

9. Highlighter to give you that lit-from-within look. It can be powder or cream to give you a natural but beautiful sheen. Try Tarte, Smashbox, MAC, Too Faced, or Laura Geller to look stellar.

10. Add some bronzer to create a sun-kissed effect. Hey, Summer can linger on your face, even if Fall has taken its place! Check out popular brands that are grand.

DOG FASHION TRENDS FOR AUTUMN 2023:

1.Sherpa Jackets for doggies. They are perfect for protecting your pooches from the chilly breeze and are functional, too. Come in all sizes and materials, and a variety of styles, such as protective dog coats or single-layered windbreakers with pretty details, like a hood. Some dog jackets are lined with fabric to keep your four-legged friend warm during colder months. Suitable for small and large dogs also.

2.Dog Shoes or Booties for your canine cutie. Envelop their paws with comfortable footwear that will shield their paws from heat, cold, and sharp debris. They are fashionable and protect their paws from the environment.

3. Pooch Hoodies that are stylish and comfy. Come in many hues, styles, and patterns, such as tie dye and bright colors.

4. Dog Gold Chain collars -- They're an affordable, cute, and easy way to give your pup a new Fall look and are like dog jewelry charm tags.

5. Other Doggie Fashion and Accessories -- Think bow ties, quilted vests, Pumpkin Spice colored vests, raincoats, sunglasses, or an adorable dog tag that pairs perfectly with the dog collar. Designed for large and small breeds.

6. Canine Knit Sweaters -- Any pooch will be fashionable and snuggly in beautiful Fall dog sweaters. From chunky cable-knit designs to sleek cashmere, dress your canine in this new Fall look. Choose from an array of different colors. Bring out the fun side of your doggie's personality.

7. Dog Pajamas -- Not only are they super cozy but they are adorable. They also help regulate their body temperature in the cooler months and protect them. How about matching pjs for the doggie and the family when you watch movies? They're easy to put on and take off, machine washable, and very soft.

8. Canine Bandanas - Great choices for pooches that may not like to dress up. Come in many lively colors and designs, are inexpensive, and keep your four-legged friend cool, not just in Fall but during Summer, too.

9. Hats for dogs that come in Fall designs are mighty fine. Try mixing and matching colors to make your dog's personal fashion statement. Above all, show your pooch's fun side.

10. For upcoming Halloween there are canine shirts with pumpkins, ghosts, or skeletons. Beware -- Scary, printed costumes are so much fun for dogs to wear and their humans to parade!

Just make sure you get the right size for your canine.

You can choose pet clothes based on gender, like pink for girls and blue for boy dogs. There is a large range of choices of dog dresses and coats in pink for female dogs. But comfort for your canine is also key.

Your poised and sophisticated pooch might even do a Vanity Fair, GQ, InStyle, Harper's Bazaar, or Vogue pose. Who knows?

My mom, Grace, is a fashionista, and the apple does not fall far from the tree. Oui! I’m talking about poodle me!

Can’t you tell? I’m a high-class pooch, ready to cast my magical and unforgettable spell.

I prefer dog dresses to accentuate my white poodle tresses.

I reply with glad barks and tail wags when Grace shows me the big Fall fashion mags. We’ll wear looks that mirror major style books.

Outfits for mommy and me make me happy as can be.

How about coordinating your clothing with your human or dog pals for a lunch date? Doesn't that sound great?

When mommy, Ricardo, and me have a slumber party, we’ll wear adorable, matching pjs. I know Grace doesn’t have white poodle hair or pompoms, but she is my mom!

So, pop the popcorn, turn on the TV, and snuggle in a soft throw. Grace, Ricardo, and me watch romantic, comedic, and dramatic movies and TV shows. Love to relax and kick back. Hope daddy can join us, but we’ll need a bigger blanket.

Whatever we wear, we’ll stand out, and that's what it's all about!

In my Fall 2023 frocks, I’ll be the star of every Manhattan block!

And that's my fashion scoop!

Now for Autumn java, what would Fall be without the Pumpkin Spice Latte? You can also sample Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew or Draft Latte, perfect for a warmer Autumn day. This beverage has definite clout with whipped cream or without. Make it at home with pumpkin pie spice on top of your latte or coffee. Yippee from me! It’s the coffee delight that’s oh, so right.

In Fall it's Pumpkin Spice this and Pumpkin Spice that in people drinks, muffins, cakes, doggie treats, and human scones. Hey, do they have pumpkin-flavored steak bones?

But dogs should enjoy this very yummy flavor of the season with a very good reason. I’m tired of drinking Frank’s PSL when he looks away. My whispers turn sticky and orange-y. Oops, I gave it away!

May I please (I’m a doggie with manners) have my own Pumpkin Spice Latte, and come into your café, and stay?

As a poodle I don’t go to traditional office work, but in the a.m., I need a wake-up perk.

When I parade on Park Avenue doing my graceful chasse, I'm always on display.

'Have you seen and read about me in THE POODLES OF PARK AVENUE book?' I ask, as I do my confident strut, pose, and people stop, and look.

Karen-Cherie Cogane, my author, had inspiration, and I am her creation.

I must be at my best, and that’s not said in jest.

Je suis Simone, and here is my poodle advice: Café owners and baristas, please be dog-friendly, and very nice.

Create Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Cappuccino, Mochaccinos, brewed coffee, and hot cocoa especially for man’s best friend, upon who you depend. Our ‘Merci beaucoups’ will never end!

When you feel a little chill, remember still, it’s time to bid Summer, adieu. But don't fret. It's Fall and marvel at what you'll get!

Start anew and the very best wishes for a great Autumn for you.

On your own fashion runway, have a fun-way! You don't have to be on a Red Carpet to know that you're It!

Perhaps you’ll say ‘Bonjour!’ to a great new furry friend with legs of four, whom you’ll adore. You can adopt one from a shelter and give it a forever home. Whether it's a mixed breed or a pedigree, no wonderful doggie deserves to be alone.

Au revoir, Summer.

Bienvenue Fall to all!”

Fall is marvelous, the leaves come down off the trees and paint the sidewalk in a rich orange and yellow collage.
