Be the Pond

Each one of us is a pond. In our pond is life. Life full of all sorts of fish; the happy fish, the sad, the sorrowful, the joyful, and especially the stressed.?

They go about, swimming and competing for space in our sacred waters. Peace is found when we remember that we are -not- the qualities of each fish, rather, those fish exist -within- us, but they are not -us-. We can experience the happy, the sad, sorrow, joy, stress with an observer's mind.?

Sometimes we forget that we are the pond and we think we are the "stressed fish", etc. We are not our emotions. We are not our stresses. We are merely observers, serving as a pool for these things to come and go. They can move through us freely, we can experience them [the emotions/stress], observe them, and provide them waters to move through and move on.

Today, be the pond

Great story and reminder, Jef, of how we are in charge of our attitude. Your article also reminded me of the Take Command Podcast with Joe Hart and Marshall Goldsmith. They talked about the importance of focusing on and being Happy. Thanks for sharing.
