Importance of PONC in our daily lives is immense. Price of Non Conformance as a measure of cost for maintaining quality standard through Philip Crosby Model is a time tested Model for most of manufacturing industries the world over. However, its true essence is also in our daily lives. It costs far less to Do Right first time (DIRFT) than pay later for rework /rerun/ failure. The simplest example is of your car whose maintenance schedule if followed religiously as when due can save accidents/failures later at very heavy costs. PONC in essence is the only measurable matrix which conforms or other wise to the requirements. It is no good or not so good quality that can ever be practiced in any process. Unless the PONC is calculated by the given parameters the real savings of actually doing right the first time can never be understood. Corporates can save huge costs if this basic principle of Philip Crosby Model is well understood by each and every employee starting from top management.
