Polygon adds life-saving capability across UK depots

Defibrillators offer emergency cardiac support for local populations

Polygon, the UK’s leading damage management company, has installed a heart defibrillator across 13 depots nationwide, making emergency life-saving equipment available for the use of staff and people in the local area.

Sourced from St John's Ambulance, the defibrillators are installed at branches across the country, they will each be registered as part of The Circuit, the first-aid charity’s UK-wide defibrillator network. Emergency health workers responding to 999 calls can use The Circuit to direct people to their nearest defibrillator and increase the chances of survival for anyone suffering from cardiac arrest.

The defibrillator equipment is designed to be used without training, providing voice and visual instructions to guide helpers performing CPR in tandem with the telephone assistance provided by trained medical professionals. The equipment can check the heart rhythm of the patient and will prompt helpers to push a button if it determines that a shock needs to be administered to the patient.

It makes perfect sense to extend that protection to the people in our depots and others who are local to our business by joining The Circuit.

We genuinely hope these units are never needed, but if they are called upon, it’s good to know that Polygon is right there to help.”
