Poly Aluminum Chloride
How to use the Poly Aluminum Chloride PAC?
Preparation:
Obtain polyaluminum chloride (PAC) in solid or liquid form.
Ensure you have the appropriate safety equipment, including gloves, goggles, and a respirator.
Dosing:
Calculate the required dosage of PAC based on the desired water quality and the water's characteristics.
Solution Preparation:
If using solid PAC, dissolve it in water to form a solution.
Add PAC slowly to water while stirring to prevent the formation of clumps.
The PAC solution should be clear or slightly turbid.
Application:
Apply the PAC solution to the water to be treated.
Methods of application may include direct injection, spray irrigation, or controlled release systems.
Ensure the PAC solution is evenly distributed throughout the water.
Flocculation and Coagulation:
After adding the PAC solution, allow sufficient time for flocculation and coagulation to occur.
This process typically takes 15-30 minutes, but can vary depending on the water conditions and PAC dosage.
Settling and Filtration:
Allow the flocs formed during flocculation and coagulation to settle.
The settling time depends on the floc size and density, typically ranging from 30 minutes to several hours.
After settling, filter the water to remove the flocs and other suspended solids.
pH Adjustment:
Adjust the pH of the treated water if necessary.
The optimal pH for coagulation and flocculation with PAC is typically between 6 and 9.
Monitoring and Optimization:
Regularly monitor the treated water quality to ensure that the desired results are achieved.
Adjust the PAC dosage or application method as needed to optimize the treatment process.
