The Political Investor: Worthy Democrat Challengers

Introduction:?

?My wife and I have been getting a lot of urgent emails from Democrats across the country asking us to fund their campaigns.? We, like many households throughout the country, want to make a difference.? However, it is not clear where contributions might matter.

?Every presidential election is described as the most important election of our lifetime.? Every candidate claims to have great ideas that will change the world and/or is trying to defeat someone who is as bad as Atilla the Hun. ??Every candidate claims to have a high likelihood of winning, often despite strong evidence to the contrary.

?Some candidates have innovative detailed policy proposals and some candidate waffle and pander.

?The primary purpose of this memo and of this newsletter is to provide information to the political investor to help him or her decide where to contribute.? The goal is to identify situations where the candidate is principled, has high quality ideas, does not waffle, where the contribution helps focus the debate on the most important issues, and where the race might be winnable. ?

?Recommendations always reflect the values and priorities of the author. The author of this memo is a middle of the road Democrat, a former economist and health care expert, a person who supports Israel, Ukraine, and NATO, and a person who has very little tolerance for politicians who waffle to obtain votes.

?The List:?

?I am more focused on the House than the Senate because most Senate races are highly funded and many house races are overlooked.

?This list involves one Senate candidate and four House candidates, all challengers where the incumbent is a vulnerable Republican.?

Lucas Kunce, the Democratic Nominee for Senate in Missouri a former marine who is pro-choice, supportive of both Ukraine and Israel, and focused on economic factors impacting the middle class.? A victory by Kunce in Missouri is a longshot but the contribution to this candidate helps focus the political debate on issues where most Americans agree with the Democrats and disagree with MAGA Republicans.? The Republican incumbent Senator Josh Hawley has a lot of extreme views, on abortion, on manhood, and on Ukraine.? However, opposition to Hawley is not the primary reason for contributing to Kunce, go here as to why.?

Janelle Stelson, candidate PA 10, a strong communicator, a former broadcaster, a person with strong policy positions, is the perfect candidate to oppose Scott Perry who opposes abortion, supported the insurrection, and opposes aid to both Ukraine and Israel.? Stelson differs sharply from Perry.? This person can both flip the seat and go far in politics.

Adam Frisch candidate CO 10, ?is the person who almost beat Lauren Boebert in 2022 and drove her to a new district.? Frisch is a conservatives Democrat who would work on issues like water and energy, which impact his rural district.? Frisch supports the right to abortion.? Not many Democrats are viable in rural America.? Frisch is viable.?

Carl Marlinga Mi 10, a former prosecutor and judge will get a rematch for a Congressional race he lost in 2022.?? Malinga lost to James in the third closest race in the country in 2022.? James is ultra conservative.?Malinga is a principled decent moderate.? ?

Janelle Bynum Oregon 5, recently won a primary against a far left anti-Israel candidate who lost the seat to the Republicans in 2022.? Her Republican opponent would not have won this race had the Democrats nominated a moderate in 2022.? The race in November will be tight but the job is half done.

Concluding Remarks:? I might vote for a candidate because he or she is the lessor of two evils.

I will not give money to a candidate on that basis because there are an unlimited number of causes and races which need funds.?

The five Democrat challengers identified here have demonstrated substance.

?Funds allocated to their campaigns might actually have a positive impact on the world.

?The next memo and list identifies superstar incumbents facing tough reelection races in toss up or Republican leaning districts.
