When choosing a title for a presentation, keep in mind the following:

? Does it stimulate the imagination?

? Does it fit the presentation's theme?

? Does it play off a well-known title or phrase?

? Does it stress WIIFM? [ What's In It For Me! ]

? Does it emphasize benefits, results, or action?

? Does it sound like something you shouldn't miss?

? Does it provoke a sense of suspense or controversy?

4. Types Of Presentation Titles

There are many different ways to create a?title for the presentation.

(A) Begin by posing the question:

Through the title of your presentation, pose a probing query. Ask your audience to think about a topic before you start a presentation. This is a powerful combination with an interactive opening to your presentation. I asked for my presentation titles in "The Question" format many times. For example: "How will online jobs look in the future?"

This "Question" title pushes listeners to think about what might happen in the future, preparing their minds for a creative exercise in imagining possible future events.

(B) Commitment.

This month, I've been invited to speak at a webinar titled "Solving for Return on Investment on shares trading." Every important feature of the commitment presentation title format is covered in this title. It not only tells me what I can expect to present and learn at the event, but it also tells me how to prepare.

(C) The Shift

With this title, you're implying a future outcome or change. Perhaps you'll use it to depict a vision of what your product or service could be. "Our customers' security was improved by the new software update" title for example.

In contrast to the topic, the titles are specific. Best practices for creating presentation titles, keeping in mind the difference between themes and titles:

  1. Keep the presentation's title as brief as possible.
  2. Give a detailed overview of the remaining information in your presentation, commensurate with a title.
  3. Nothing gets the audience excited like a live poll to help them remember your presentation title.
  4. Catch the audience’s attention by putting an interesting fact that goes well with your title
  5. A better way to start – or end – a presentation with an original title a call to action.

Here, I recall giving a presentation at an international conference in Bangkok, Thailand, with many simultaneous breakout sessions. I'd like to increase the number of people that attend my presentation. I began by scanning the list of titles that the conference organizers had previously scheduled months before the event. I went through the procedures above, made a list, and reduced my options. At this point, I was determined to attract a larger number of YOUNG people to my presentation.

My final title was "We Walk With Youth." Surprisingly, the attendance, regardless of age, exceeded my expectations, and I finished my lecture. All of this may be related to the title I chose, despite the time it took to arrive.

The title of your presentation will help your audience recall the main points of your message.

  1. To create your presentation title, focus on four key points of your speech. No one will remember more than four points.
  2. Make a list of all the points you remember from the previous presentation.
  3. Make your most vital statement the first thing you say; don't bury it.
  4. Your title's messages should be shorter, simpler, and clearer.
  5. Make sure that your title and bullet points are "results-oriented."
  6. Rather than making the bullet a piece of data or an idea that you want the recipient to grasp, emphasize the title benefit
  7. Focus on the result, and your audience will pay attention.
  8. Take feedback on the title.

For example, in one of my presentations, I demonstrate how to create a title for a three-point presentation. The most common title for the presentation is "Three-Point Speech," but it fails the Do I Toss a Coin? test. As a result, I had to ask, "What is the primary benefit of understanding the Three-Point Talk?" With practice, people get good at this process, in minutes rather than hours or days. As a result, I recommended the title "A Simple Way to Design Presentations in 15 Minutes or Less."

Presentation titles that make you yawn. Here are a few titles that signal to the audience that your presentation is going to be a bore.

The FIRST list is:

Why are these titles being changed?

First and foremost, your title must clearly state your topic.?It can't be generic or vague. This rule is broken in each of the titles listed above.?What's new this month? Which month? "Finances" is also ambiguous.?What financials are we talking about specifically? An ambiguous title has a much bigger problem than boring the viewers right away.

For example, the following titles are recommended for the titles given above.

The SECOND list is:

(1A) Last month, we exceeded our corporate targets and boosted profit.

(2A) Several security issues were resolved with our latest software upgrade.

(3A) The new construction project is running late.

(4A) By focusing on repeat business, we will grow revenue by Rs 15,00,00,000 this year.

You can substantially reduce the topic by simply forcing yourself to turn your title into a complete sentence. If you look at the difference between the first list and the second, the second is already more intriguing?

The next step is to figure out "why." Reading your sentences aloud is a great way to achieve this.

Then ask yourself, "Why would I care about this if I were in the audience?" "How does this benefit me?"

By the way, if your replies are "I wouldn't" and "Not much," then you should cancel your presentation.

You're just squandering everyone's time.

As a result, make the audience care by defining their "why"

However, for the four titles listed above that have been altered, the following may be appropriate responses:

The THIRD list is:

(1)??????Answer to (1A): Your monthly bonus has been enhanced.

(2)??????Answer to (2A): Your consumers are less likely to be the victims of a data leak.

(3)??????Answer to (3A): We can get back on track without incurring overruns if we change our plan.

(4)??????Answer to (4A): Your commissions will rise as well.

Simply put the two pieces together now that you have them.

Combine the sentences in List #2 with the benefit in List #3. When you do, you will create a series of catchy presentation titles.

(2B) Your consumers are less likely to be the victims of a data leak because several security issues were resolved with our latest software upgrade.

(3B) The new construction project is running late. We can get back on track without incurring overruns if we change our plan.

(4B)?By focusing on repeat business, we will grow revenue by Rs 15,00,00,000 this year. Your commissions will rise as well, by Rs. 25,00,000

These presentation titles aren't perfect, but they're certainly better than before.

Compare and contrast the first title:

The initial title was "Monthly financial report."

We ended up with: "Last month, we exceeded our corporate targets and boosted profit, so your monthly bonus has been enhanced."

Which one would you choose to watch? What's more, guess what? Your audience thinks the same way.

It is better to create a title like this: "Corporate targets met, monthly profits up. What's more?"

So, if you want to grab your audience's attention right away, consider using catchy presentation titles that can help.

10. Final Thoughts Title (with a Twist):

If you need to put the title/topic of the presentation on the front slide, but yet want that unique spin, modify the title slightly.?Rather uninteresting presentation names, such as " An Introduction to biology in the oceans," can be converted into "Facts about deep diving". Make it funny or amazing to grab the audience's attention!
