Polish History Museum, Warsaw, Poland
This new Polish History Museum proposal encompasses a covered public space over an existing motorway, which bisects the castle grounds and the botanic gardens. The new public space would replace the agricultural and community gardens that once occupied the site. The proposal also includes an integrated water-management system that captures, stores, and reuses water and cleaning water that would otherwise flow into the adjacent river untreated. The architects examined the surface's overall geometries, form, functionality, and integrations through digital applications. Stretching, pulling, reshaping, and connecting spaces can be easily achieved through advanced modeling software, including Rhino.
