Policies That Companies Should Improve For Employees In India
Hello,?
Thankyou for reading part 1. Here is part 2, and I want to start by talking about salary negotiation.
Salary negotiation?
Salary negotiation is the worst-case scenario in every company in india. Firstly, they don't write about what they can offer, and when they connect with the employee, they ask them about their current and expected salary. When the salary is not within their budget, they just ignore employees. Companies should atleast tell them their budget, and employees should also ask what the company can offer.?
I came in contact with many companies and told them my current and expected. I asked them about their budget, and they agreed. They called me for an interview in the office, but I declined, so they took it from home, which I found good. But some called the office and wasted my time. However, after completing the whole process of the interview, some said I don't have experience, so they can't offer, some said I still have to hone my skills, so they can't offer, some said they can't afford that budget, some say they will have to teach me some things so they cant offer.?
Don't take interviews and waste time if you can't afford their expected salary. You are simply wasting their and your time. This is not done you should talk to them about the salary you make us do everything and then, at last, don't offer a salary. Then they ask to negotiate and manipulate and pester us to join.?
Bonds?
Bonds are also the worst thing, which shows that Indian companies don't have any trust in their employees. But this is understandable because many employees leave in some months and ghost companies. But atleast keep the bond, which is affordable for both the company and the employee. Don't think only for yourself. There are many employees who can't afford to give big big cheques. Ask them to sign documents or take some mark sheets or something for a few months or a year. They are precious to them and also are not costly. Companies can keep them so employees won't leave for a year. And definitely, after a year, if you don't give a good increment, they will leave. Taking cheques for 3 years and 2 years is cheating. This proves that Indian companies don't have trust in their employees. Everyone has their own target which they want to achieve, and if you are good to your employees, they will definitely stay for years. Making them stay for 2 years by taking cheques and not offering them a good salary is not good.?
Internships?
I think many Indian companies don't know the meaning of internships. They want to hire interns for unpaid opportunities. This is definitely the most stupidest thing they do. They want to hire a servant who can work for free. They promise to give a salary and a permanent full-time job after completion of 3 months and after 3 months they show their true colors. They will either say you don't have skills or offer a very low salary and then the intern will definitely regret working with them.?

I have seen them hire interns and give them all the work as if they were servants and not teaching them. Internships are to learn and improve skills, not to do this servant work just because others are tired. Famous companies' seniors ask HRs to hire interns because they are tired and want interns to do all the work. It happened to someone close to me, too. They asked to work for 3 months unpaid and then did drama of salary and threw insults like you don't work well, you don't have skills, you don't work overtime, you changed your field. Why does it matter to you what we do just give a salary for our work, not these things? Companies are the worst, and that’s why employees have become like this.?
Other job requirements?
This is also a thing I think companies should change. Like many companies ask employees to have extra skills other than their job role. This way they won't get a job. For eg, as a writer I am asked to have seo skills, a graphic designer is asked to have Premiere Pro skills, video editors are asked to have animation skills, etc. This is what companies have help them learn. They won't be able to learn this by themselves. They ask if employees are really experienced. Companies should not ask freshers to have those skills. Experiences might have those skills, but freshers will have to learn. Ask basic skills to freshers so they can apply and get a job to learn.?
Leaves?
Nowadays companies don't provide many leaves to their employees. US companies provide unlimited PTOs whereas our indian companies don't give even 24 leaves per year. They provide 1 per month and 12 a year. In 12 leaves also they allow a maximum of 2 leaves in a month. What if someone wants to go on a trip for a few days their salary will be deducted. Indian companies just want employees to work like dogs and provide less salary and leave. Many HRs don't approve leaves easily. This is also the worst thing in indian companies. Many companies don't have provide leave and also don't take for trips or celebrations which is a really bad thing. I sometimes don't get why people work in that type of company.?
Nowadays companies also keep sandwich policies where employees cannot even enjoy Saturday and Monday leaves. If you have a holiday on Saturday you cannot take it on Monday and vice versa. You don't provide leaves and now this. This is the reason indian companies have a bad reputation. They think about themselves and work and not about employees and their mental health.?
Relocate and commute
This is one more thing indian companies are bad at. They don't even give sometime to employees to relocate. They ask the employee to immediately shift at their company location and start immediately. Some yeast back company use to give time to relate or give relation assistance. But now they don't even help us they ask if we can relocate and if we say no then done we lose that opportunity. Companies should give sometime to employees to relocate and commute and or atleast give WFH for a few months so that they can adjust to the company and look for a good place to stay in a different location. Or give them sometime to find a beer place for them before joining. Giving gifts after joining is not always loved by employees this type of help also makes them feel that they have joined the right organization.?
Note: These are my personal opinions. No company will change, I know. Share your reviews and policies you don't like, too!!
Thankyou for reading.?
