Followers in Scotland who have concerns about the impact the impending airgun licensing will have on Police resources and effectiveness could express those concerns in the Police Scotland Local Policing Consultation survey which can be found at https://www.scotland.police.uk/about-us/decision-making/public-consultation/local-policing-consultation

Perhaps this is your TOP PRIORITY and could be listed as “None of the Above” with a descriptive text put in the “If None of the above selected…” box? After all if the Police... don’t have the resources they may not be able to properly deal with the other items on the list, of which some are extremely important and may have a significantly greater impact on society.

Things you may wish to consider including;

• cost
• diverting of limited resources
• only 8 airgun related convictions in 2014/15,
• just 0.0001% of Scotland’s population committed an airgun crime in 2014/15
• airgun crime is falling
• knife and other violent crime is a bigger issue than airgun misuse
• focusing on the wrong area
