Pole Star summer conference

Companies who grow together, stay together. -

Lauren Weston (Marketing consultant, Pole Star EAM)

Pole Star hosted its recent summer conference in Bournemouth with over 30 team members in attendance. It seemed only fitting for the CEO, Edward Hiskins , to open the conference with a recognition of growth of the company, both in turnover, and team members whilst praising the organisation for their efforts.

Justine Shepherd ,?Managing Director Pole Star Systems,?shared that “Pole Star started off as just three team members working from a small office in Guildford where working from home wasn’t part of our culture. We’re now up to 30 team members all working remotely positioned all over the UK and we’re growing fast. It has been a fantastic journey, and with great roots in place we want to remain strong for the future keeping that solid foundation.”

Edward (CEO) shared his future vision for the company before handing over to Danny Smith , interim COO, and?organisational health advocate, who led a series of inspiring interactive workshops focused on Pole Star developing further as a healthy organisation.?

The conference allowed the team to work in break-out groups sharing collaborative thoughts and ideas on improving digital tools, communication methods and community cohesion. Being a fully remote company, Danny has improved the efficiency of the systems and structures in place, particularly around meeting structures to ensure the company is fully “remote ready”.

There was a real passion for Pole Star senior leaders to gain feedback and creative suggestions from the team on how to improve and grow the company, from turnover to culture, values and well-understood structure. The conference finished with team members considering how they could make the company even stronger. Beyond functionality, the team came up with fantastic ideas to improve workplace culture, communication, efficiencies, work/life balance and the sense of community within the company.?

As a company, Pole Star makes it a priority to get quarterly staff feedback inclusive of reflective comments of the conferences such as that below:

“The conference was a great day. I enjoyed taking part in some very useful and eye-opening workshops led by Danny on company culture and communication when working remotely”?Jules Ham, Chief Architect.?

As a company, we know employee happiness also inspires extra commitment to the company and fosters a genuine interest in its success. Happy team members are more inspired and innovative and will go over and above to deliver an exceptional customer experience.?

“We want motivated, contented staff and happy clients in order to grow”. Justine Shepherd –?Managing Director Pole Star Systems.
