Pointer 2: Start with the end in mind...!

Pointer 2: Start with the end in mind...!

It can take a while before you find your purpose in life.

A lot of people, me included, have passed several "stations" before they finally found the direction that helped them to become truly happy.

This is a normal process. So finding your purpose might take some time as we pointed out under Pointer 1. Once you have that purpose clear you actually start an adventure. It's that simple!

Because more often than not, you are entering work and/or life environments you are unfamiliar with. So, once the purpose is sufficiently clear, you need to start visualizing.

Visualizing is an enormously powerful technique that unfortunately very few people use. It has four main advantages:

A) Visualizing helps you to "project" your desired end state. You try to build a mental picture of where, how, when, with whom, and why you are working and living.

B) This first point helps you to reflect on the skills and capabilities you will have to develop, together with the training, and tools you might need.

C) It will help you also with the phases where you are experiencing "backfire" or severe challenges while pursuing your further path.

D) And finally, visualization helps you to deal with big parts of your "social programming". Because until that point, you have lived a life that was not in line with your purpose.

So, you will have to leave a lot of what is in your actual backpack behind, so that you can start filling it with new experience, knowledge, and tooling, to start building your "Purpose Driven Life".

Do yourself a favor and visualize the end point clearly and each day over. You will start to understand that it severely lightens your hike on this new and challenging trail.

I hope this observation will at least make you stop and wonder, how much you are starting new trails with the end in mind...?

Happy reading,
