The Point Du Hoc Mission

The Point Du Hoc Mission

There's not one single most courageous act during the D-Day invasion, but Ranger Battalion's assault up the cliffs of Point Du Hoc are at the top of the list.

Join me for a walkthrough of Pointe Du Hoc as we cover the incredible story of the 2nd and 5th Ranger Battalion's heroic efforts detailing their daring climb up the 90-foot cliffs to seize a critical German artillery position.

In a special impromptu segment, I also had the chance to interview Frank Smith, whose father, Norman Smith, was a P-51 Mustang pilot who flew combat missions over Normandy on D-Day. Frank shares his father's experiences and insight both in the cockpit and from the farmhouse he lived in!
