The goal of this series of regular posts, until further notice, is to offer up for consideration points for contemplation represented by topical cognitive development. This differs from submitting for consideration an ideal in which adoption or debate ensues.  As has been our thinking from the onset it’s not about creating adopters but developing mindsets, on your terms in such a way that respectful dialog can occur. Without this cognitive development we are left with fact less and often emotional contention that polarizes not grows societal development.

 

·        Objectivity – The influences of acquired bias, race, gender, creed and nationality all challenge objectivity. Objectivity becomes a much sought after trait. Objectivity is about fact over persuasion or preferences.  Are you doing all that you can to be objective or are you allowing yourself not to be? #Objectivity #Unbiased #Factual

 

·        Simplistic and superficial understanding of collaborative group initiatives. Are they really useful or have been convinced that they are the right way? Have we overlooked issues of balance, the effects of interdependence connectivity, and pragmatics vs. absolute states? #collaborative #teams

 

·        Requirements fail because we start with desires and needs and fail to establish certainty relating to purpose and objectives.  We also must consider that those establishing requirement needs are largely untrained in such an exercise, failure to be oriented in such and do not practice the exercise often enough to develop expertise. Further, acting upon these morsels of thoughts compound the problem, create waste, open the door to technical self-gratification and excessive gold plating. #requirements #quality #suitability            

 

·        To innovate is to overcome a problem or exploit an opportunity. To invent is to conceptualize and create a comprehensive new paradigm. One cannot be trained for either, we can only establish a right atmosphere that is conducive to both (free thinking). #Innovate #Invent

 

·        Fundamental desires for respect and recognition compels us to act and illuminate things we do. The opposition in turn used it as justification as to why respect should not be given. Consider changing from what we do to what we have accomplished. #respect #recognition #change

 

·        People lack flexibility and when forced by compelling reasons they struggle with sustainability. This leads to desires for the past normalcy even when less than ideal. #flexibility #sustainability

 

·        Emotional reactive develop is a threat to credible engineering that produces sustainable cost recovery and reduced chaos. If you act instead of THINK the results will become blatantly apparent.  #reactive #controlled #pragmatic #cognitive
