The goal of this series of regular posts, until further notice, is to offer up for consideration points for contemplation represented by topical cognitive development.?This differs from submitting for consideration an ideal in which adoption or debate ensues.??As has been our thinking from the onset it’s not about creating adopters but developing mindsets, on your terms in such a way that respectful dialog can occur.?Without this cognitive development we are left with fact less and often emotional contention that polarizes not grows societal development.
Even the most active and creative thinkers have their moments.?As is often the case though occurs as a result of some form of environmental stimulus.?It may be the result of events, discussions, or that lingering thought that for some reason has come to the surface.?It’s this ebb and flow in discernment that creates points-to-ponder (P2P).?
- Why do we hold onto archaic manual systems??Is it a economic and humanistic reason, lack of motivation or knowing what next to do to advance??A problem may be right before your eyes and a failure to respond leaves us to eventually act when a mishap occurs.?Matters as simple as having staff who fill out forms because no one knows how to use Microsoft Office, in these days of acclaimed digitization, is a massive problem.?Even when people are willing to give time and direct resources to facilitate change it is met with apprehension and resistance.?Fear is a problem as well as motivation and even self-confidence. ??Does your organization face this sort of situation and has there been any effort to elevate awareness/importance?
- The big news of late has been space travel and it’s accessibility by members of society.?Galatia/Virgin making?raises the question of whether you would be interested to fly into ?space??In fact they are holding a contest to give away some flights and I’m sure many are intrigue enough to show interest.?Space has been the next frontier for nations, now it is becoming one for people which was much like flight many years ago.
- We have been studying trends in contentious news and examining the motives.?It’s sometimes difficult to ascertain the value or whether the matter of value is even considered given the damaging self-conduct that occurs.?As we look at this further we considered what reaction/action people should have to it.?The corrosive effect cannot persist as we live in a highly emotional world and in the course of time nothing positive will be achieved.?It therefore behooves us to find ways to change caustic communications into constructive engagements.?We developed a short white paper to vent our thinking and will subject it to further refinements for eventual ‘constructive’ sharing.
- Is there a market for unspent ideas? How would it be commoditized?
- Pondering stops with preoccupation.?While pre-occupation may lead to pondering/considering it isn’t necessary a condition when it’s a task event.?This week has been particular low in terms of pondering, not that we set some arbitrary objective.?Closer examination reflected a spike in activities that pre-occupied us from contemplative thinking.?In some ways it was a healthy reset but also makes us wonder whether we simply use this as a convenient excuse to be brain lazy even during those periods in which we simply had down time.?I find that pondering can be frustrating when I don’t have something as simple as paper and a writing instrument.??It’s a conditioned response situation that is not abated even when there are immortalizations that can be accommodated using alternatives.??So did I ponder this week??Yes but what made the pondering different was in depth.?Having celebrated a birthday my pondering was about goals that I wish to fulfill and was satisfied that it stopped at that.?So ponder means to think with an appropriate intensity but not necessarily always a deep dive into the unknown recesses.
? Yes it was a lite week but that is ok.?Refreshed and with renewed purpose pondering and contemplate can be undertaken with gusto.
