Poetry with Morel
I greatly appreciate theoretical ideas and the world of academia, for example, last week I made reference to Leadership styles and theoretical approaches. I also love creativity, hence my love for the arts, writing poetic thoughts and stories. I won’t attempt to do a self-analysis, but though I enjoy?reading and writing about research methodology and scientific rigour, I usually have a happier disposition when I am free to use my imagination, free to be creative or to mix research data with fiction.?
I think my head was in the clouds or buried under water when I decided to turn on my imagination and to write about the supernatural activity taking place in the lake. It is all from my mind, I guess it gives an insight into my crazy mind, I might develop a short story in the future based on the Lake. Here is the poem:?
LAKE?
An eerie stillness and yet forceful not a ripple in sight
Muddy waters lies beneath the landscape of white
Some days you might hear her calling your name
Or hear crying souls wailing deep down in the lake??
She has pure darkened tones, enchanting to hear ????
But her grip will bleed you white, she’ll hold you tight ?
Will pull you under, suck every breath, take your life ?
If you should hear her sing a lullaby be prepared to fight ???

I have a short story on Amazon titled ‘Pirate City’. The story Pirate City is my first short story and it is based on a true event, the sinking of Port Royal. The story took place on 7 June 1692. Port Royal was the home of wealthy merchants and seafaring pirates, such as Captain Henry Morgan and Calico Jack. Pirate City tells the story of a group of young people and their younger siblings, who are in search of a holiday adventure. The young people visit a deserted Bay, known for unearthing gold ingots (young Tocho, is in search of the lost Taino Golden Sword). The group experience a tsunami, some discover romance and ultimately they discover the sunken Pirate City.

Here is an extract from Pirate City, a speech by Mr Chin, the book is on Amazon.?
Mr Chin:
“I’m simply telling you what I know, what they told me in my school days and what I heard from the Old Man. You both must admit that it is a strange looking door. I don’t know why you all want to go through this door. Look at it! As far as I can remember, it’s always looked this way; it looks like it’s rotting, it is creepy, it’s falling to pieces, the wood is cracked, but still we can’t see through it. This door is stronger than an ox”.
Mr Chin paused for a few seconds and then continued “some people have been through this door and never came back. A man took an axe to it once, and the axe flew out of his hand. The poor man got scared and ran off”.??
