O God of Mine Personal Prayer
O God, please don’t make my fate as difficult as you did Job’s,
I am, but an ordinary man attempting an extraordinary feat;
Lend lift to my dreams so that they may fly high,
Over the mundane, the ordinary, and provide lasting benefits;
But you are the God of Adam, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,
A God so powerful, that you created the entire universe,
In seven short days with the Sabbath as a day of rest,
Wouldn’t you provide a lasting peace to my restless soul ?
I am a little naive, a little foolish and a little ambitious,
But a true Christian, attempting to live a life as close to Jesus Christ-like,
It is a hard life that you have given me, but I try to endure;
The best that I can, know how and when to suffer to silence;
Raise me up like Job again, tried, tested and pure of heart,
Much like that stone that was rejected by all builders,
Make me the key stone of your faith in me,
Unlike your servant Job give me seven times as much as I had before;
I want what has been stolen inheritance rights/shares/monies to be returned,
In full and before we leave our home for foreign shores,
Our home things that are damaged to be replaced with new by the former cable operator,
That ideal permanent NYC-based, UN job that could make our family fortunes at my terms,
Convention on the Law of the Sea work of literance that are submitted to Penguin-Random,
Requests of business funding from Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, and endorsement of peers like Discovery Channel's Chairman,
Make everything go our way for now and forever,
This is my humble prayer since long, I pray to you, my God and my friend upstairs.
