7. Global Media Consumption Reaches a Turning Point: PQ Media Report Unveils Key Trends

The way we consume media is evolving rapidly, and a new report by PQ Media paints a fascinating picture of this changing landscape. Their findings reveal a slowdown in global media consumption growth, with usage increasing by a mere 0.3% in 2023, compared to 3% the year before.

Despite the overall slowdown, digital media continues its ascent. Audio, driven by podcasts and streaming services, remains the second most consumed medium globally.? In fact, digital media now accounts for over 37.5% of worldwide media consumption, with some countries exceeding 50%.

Users will have until July 29th, 2024 to export their podcast subscriptions from Google Podcasts.
