In January of every year, I make five predictions for the New Year, and at the same time, review how I did on my five predictions for the year just ended. The review of my 2019 Predictions and my Predictions for 2020 have been previously published on LinkedIn; www.managingthedragon.com; and www.jfpholdings.com. Just as the coronavirus was spiraling out of control in China, we did a podcast that covered both. Because the coronavirus so dominated the news at the time, we decided not to release the podcast. With a consensus building that work in China will begin returning to normal early in the second quarter, however, we think now is the right time to make the podcast available. After all, once the coronavirus is behind us, questions about the trade negotiations with the United States; China's currency and stock market; and the country's auto industry and new energy vehicles will once again come to the fore. The podcast provides a good summary of where we were before this all started. Furthermore, I believe that my 2020 predictions will generally hold true, particularly given that China will take a number of actions in terms of fiscal policy to offset what certainly will be a bad first quarter.
