Pod Insights - November 2024 edition

Will your B2B brand be making bold moves this autumn?

Welcome to November’s Pod Insights. As the temperature outside drops, we’re exploring two hot topics ???:

  • How bold should B2B PR be when addressing socio-political issues? ??
  • Why accessible content can help your brand reach more people. ??

Whether you’re trying to make a calculated PR move or thinking about writing more inclusive content, we’ve got the insights you need this November.?

Let’s get started.

B2B PR: 5 key questions to master the balance between boldness and safety

Should your B2B brand weigh in on current affairs, or are business and politics better kept separate? For example, would you want your favourite cereal brand to comment on the Government’s environmental policy? Should your brand?

More and more B2B organisations are following in the footsteps of B2C brands by aligning their PR campaigns with issues that matter to them. But is it always a smart move? Our Content & PR Writer, Monia Dal Checco, shares insight into how to manage the fine line between standing out and potentially alienating your audience, with 5 key questions to help you decide if a bold move is right for your brand. ??

Pod’s Accessibility series kicks off

Even as professional content writers, we have words that we love and words that we avoid. But no matter your preference, the real question is: how can you be sure your content is readable and accessible? It’s the focus of our new blog series:

Why accessibility matters: 5 benefits

Accessible content can be read, understood and acted upon by as many people as possible. In the first blog of our accessibility series, Monia explores why writing accessible content is not only good for your audience but also great for your B2B brand.

And it’s never just about ticking a box; accessible content can make your brand easier to trust and engage with, strengthen your SEO game and increase audience retention. ???

How to write accessible content: 5 essential considerations

Now we know the ‘why’ our accessibility series also moves on to the ‘how’. Monia takes us through her top tips on making sure written content can be processed and acted upon by as many people as possible. ??

This second blog in the accessibility series looks at the importance of getting text structure, sentence length, syntax, word choice and microcopy right?– and argues doing so can be very positive for your brand’s visibility and public perception.

Pod news in brief:

Here are Pod’s November highlights:

B2B Marketing Awards countdown: fingers crossed ??

We’re super excited (and a little nervous) with the big day just around the corner. We’ll be finding out how we’ve done in four categories – including B2B Agency of the Year –?at the B2B Marketing Awards ceremony on November 27th. Wish us luck. ????

Pod Halloween highlights ????

For our October monthly meeting, the Podsters donned their spookiest costumes and gathered for Pod Halloween. Discussions were frighteningly good, and the puns were… well, they were boo-tiful (sorry, we had to!). From business updates to spine-tingling personal news during the meeting, and ghoulish themes throughout the day, the team had a fang-tastic time. ??

Pod volunteers: assemble! ????

Last month, we spent a rewarding day transforming an outdoor area at The John Moore Primary School in Tewksbury. Our Podsters rolled up their sleeves to help clear out a pond and an area around it for pupils to use as a valuable learning and play space. We can’t wait to see how the youngsters enjoy their new outdoor space.?

We hope you found the November edition of Pod Insights useful. We’ll be back next month with the (are we allowed to mention it yet?) countdown to Christmas!
